3 months post op sugar
Hi guys, it's been a while!
Talking to my dietician 1 week post op, it sounds like I'm alot more sensitive to sugars than most. I couldn't tolerate the liquid Tylenol at the hospital as I had dumping. 3 months post op, I struggle with anything with moderate to high amounts of even fake sugars (christmas was effected by trying a single sugar free chocolate). I even struggle with almost all fruit, which I adore. I hate stomach cramps for a whole day after trying some orange the other night :(
I was just wondering what others have experienced

I am exactly the same way... and i'm 7 mths out.. almost 8 mths... I don't necessarily get dumping from some sugars... but will get an instant headache and nausea... I have just learned to stay away from all sugars... even sweeteners...as I can't seem to tolerate them either..

In the first year post-op I dumped on fruit (watermelon and cantaloupe). This was a rare occasion because I was usually cautious. I am 3.5 years post-op and I seem less sensitive to fruit sugars. I don't want to eat refined sugar because dumping sucks. I guess what I'm saying is that there is a chance it might get better with time.

Referral to Guelph Feb/13, Sleep study and all bloodwork and ultrasound May/13, orientation July/13. Nurse, NUT,SW Sept/13, 2nd NUT, nurse and SW, 3rd round and cleared for surgery Dec/13. Pre-op Apr 7/14, Surgeon May 2/14, Opti Jul 3/14, surgery Jul 17/14.
