Topic: RE: my first optifast!
I actually just had my first one too and didn't mind it (actually kind of liked it... I must be one of the weird ones LOL). I had a chocolate one with 500mls instead of 300 mls of water and served it over ice. It wasn't bad. I bought one of those shaker ball bottles instead of putting it in a blender because I've heard that it creates so much bubbles in a blender and gives it an odd texture. Maybe you could try something like that?
Hope it gets better!

Thanks for the heads up Beth. I'll have to try the Crystal Light in the Optifast too. I'm just trying to stock up my pantry to prepare for Optifast. I'm having a hard time envisioning three weeks of just plain old shakes.

Hi Everyone,
Most of you probably know this, but me being new and all, this was a very exciting discovery for me today. I was looking for sugar free syrups as I start my OptiFast on Friday and found that both Torani and DaVinci don't ship to Canada
But I did find that you could purchase DaVinci syrups through the LowCarbGrocery.com and have it shipped, they also mentioned on their site that a number of stores in Ontario have mini-LowCarbGrocery stores inside.
I went to the local Nutrition House (one of the stores list on LowCarbGrocery.com) and found every flavour imaginable of Sugar Free DaVinci syrups at roughly the same price as you would buy online direct from their site
. They also had a number of Walden Farms products (sugar free Pancakes, syrup, salad dressing and BBQ). They even had pretty good looking sugar free cookies (although I haven't tried any of these yet and can't attest to their flavour, everything looked okay).
Just a little FYI in case your looking for something new.

Hi Mel, Welcome to OH!
I haven't started my OptiFast yet (I start on Friday) but I noticed that we have the same doctor so I just thought I'd say hi and wish you luck. Hopefully the rest of your OptiFast will be smooth sailing.
Best of Luck!

Topic: RE: One week till OPTIFAST
Good luck with the Optifast! It's not too long now
But you have me thinking now too because I'm two days behind you in starting Optifast and two days behind for the surgery--mine's on July 15th at Humber.

I think most of your questions have already been answered. For the out of town question: I found that at HRRH that the appointments were made through my doc's office. The receptionists were great at coordinating appointments that I could come in, get everything done in one long day and go home with everything I needed. Unfortunately, in my case somethings ended up needing to be rearranged but for the most part they try to coordinate. I got my Optifast from the Doctor's office and I just stopped in, no appointment needed, to pick it up before my appointments at the hospital. Hope that helps.

I'm pre-op so I can't speak to post-surgery but I would think you'd be okay, just stay away from some of the rides that really knock you around. I know for me, that the Italian Job ride (I know they changed the names but I'm not sure what it is now) was an awesome ride but I always got knocked around quite a bit in it. I stick to ones like the water rapids and the 3-D FX theatre that the seats can support you a little better and avoid uncomfortable movements. I hope you have fun!
