Ok saw DR. Brader today. Here is my progress in a nutshell. All my labs look MOSTLY good. Although my Calcium IS within the normal range they want me to up it just a bit more because of the whole bone thing. :-) technical jargon. HAHA.
I'm officially only overweight, I've lost a total of 114 lbs and have a total of 71% excess body weight loss.
So... I'm hoping for another 20 lbs to be off by my one year anniversary.. If I can get past this stall.
woohoo

Sandra - My walking buddy,
71% - Amazing number! Overweight is awesome! We'll walk your butt out of the stall :).
A great doctor visit, your sons surgery went week, you rode a horse last weekend AND you have a Birthday tomorrow... How could life be better?
Email me tomorrow about walkin'
xoxo,
Maura

Those are some AMAZING stats!!
Oh - and to add to the medical jargon...your calcium levels will almost always "look" normal. Here's the thing w/ calcium. If your "blood calcium level" is low (which is what they check when they pull labs) your body says "oh, I don't have enough calcium..but there's a TON of it here in these bones, so I'll steal it from there", and it does, and your blood calcium levels LOOK normal, when in fact, it's just a facade.
The biggest problem with stealing (besides it being morally wrong, lol) is that unless you have yearly bone density scans (and someone your age doesn't normally get that) you don't KNOW you are losing bone..until you're 65 and breaking hips just by looking at it funny.
Ok, enough medical yapping.
Congrats again!!!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
