I know this sounds silly but I'm almost 4 weeks postop LBL/BL and my butt crack seems to be too high.  I had the circumfrential tummy tuck mainly so I could wear a 2 piece bathing suit again but now looks like about 2 inches of my crack is above my panites.  And when will the swelling get better?  Help!!

Hi Okay I'm confused. Is your incision too high or too low? Or he lifted you so high that your crack is long?  Okay that just sounded weird. My incision is way close to the top of my crack, but I understand the frustration you are going through.  In order to get the best results my doc put my thigh incision way down.  It shows in underwear, nevermind a bathing suit.  It is a bit frustrating that I will never be able to wear something without a skirt on it.  I had the LBL so I didn't HAVE to wear the dang skirt.  Oh well, yeah I feel your pain. Your butt will fall, if that is any consolation.  It doesn't stay all hitched up like that.  By about 6 weeks my butt was feeling the effects of gravity.  Hopefully that will help with your situation. As far as the swelling, it can last up to a year, coming and going.  Keep your binder on 24/7 and that should reduce it.  Then just time will solve it.

Hi I am 10 weeks post op from a LBL and I don't think that I have had that problem at all.....or at least I didn't notice my butt crack being higher.   It does look higher without my panties on but then when I put them on and pull them up my crack is just where it should be.   I would have a talk with your PS about this.    I wish that I could help you out but I have no solution.   I think that if I were you I would call his office and talk with one of his nurses about this...maybe they can shed some light on this subject for you and they would be better qualified to answer this question for you plus you they are familiar with your body and what was done to you.   Good luck....I hope that you receive the answer that you are looking for. Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Hi there. I'm 8 weeks postop LBL today. I didn't have the BL but right after surgery, my crack seemed to be really high too..but is now kinda going down to where it looks more "normal" in my eyes. I guess I'm starting the sagging effect..so see, doesn't sound silly at all. Hang in there. *hugs*

I'm having my LBL on Aug 28th and my surgeon said my but crack would be higher and longer since he has to pull the lower part up.  Perhaps as others have said, things will settle down eventually.  Looking at before and after LBL photos one can clearly see that the crack is higher after LBL.   Donna

I don;t know if this had to do with the autoaugmentation that the girls have... I think someone made a movie....."Naighmare on Crack Street" Russ

It is not silly.  I had a LBL/Medial thigh lift on 7/3.  My butt crack looks long and very high.  I was shocked and at first thought was the Vicodin but no, my crack goes forever.  Thanks for posting I don't feel alone and crazy.  Thanks

In the world of plastic surgery, there really are no silly situations because no matter what experience you have, it appears SOMEBODY out here can relate to it but were scared to be the first to say it.  LOL Okay so after my LBL, amongst many other strange changes, I noticed that my behind felt like it was in the middle of my back, it looked like a soccer ball, it was tight as hell, and looked a bit crazy.  And yeah, the top of my butt crack felt like it was right below my bra!!!  But now I am almost 4 months out and the swelling has decreased significantly in the back, the butt has settled down (dropped) into a more natural placement, the incision has healed very nicely, the butt itself no longer feels like an overly inflated ball, and the butt crack, though still a bit higher than it was before, has dropped a little as well so there is still hope!!!  Give yourself some more time.  A month is still too soon to know what your final results will be.  I am 4 months out and still have little changes here and there.

At 7 weeks my swelling is pretty good except for one region on my surgery line on the front right.

I had a circumferential abdominoplasty (LBL) in October, 2006 and don't recall my crack being above my panties, ever.  It is just a guess, but could it be due to the amount of skin that had to be pulled up?  Or swelling? I did have an area at the top of the crack that looked wrinkled, but that was due to swelling and suspension sutures.  It flattened out and does not look wrinkly anymore.   I had buttock auto-augmentation using flap grafts with my LBL.  The swelling in the butt area lasted months.  The rest of the swelling went down fairly quickly.  You may want to check with your surgeon about icing.  I used frozen peas to ice a few times a day.  It helped a lot with the swelling.
