Question about JP drains
Yeah I have a little bit too much fun with the clots too LOL That's probably why I had no problem pulling out my own drain and pain pump catheter, it's all interesting to me.
I don't know about a tummy tuck, but I do know my panniculectomy was a lot less painful than I ever expected, and recovery isn't too bad.

EEEK So I found the problem. The white part that is sticking out of my groin is cracked! It is still draining, but not into the bulb, into my panties LOL I am going to try to get a hold of someone, good luck on a Saturday night doing that.
UPDATE - Paged the plastic surgery resident on call who told me the drain needed to be removed. I could either take it out myself with him telling me what to do over the phone or go to the ER. Well I can now say I've pulled a drain out of my own body LOL Those "cracks" turned out to be the channels on the side of the inside part of the drain that lead fluid away. Somehow the drain had gotten pulled out enough to not work anymore. He said as long as the other two drains were working, I would be ok without this one. He said it was an increased risk of infection like it was. So now I've pulled out a pain pump catheter and a drain. I think I'm training to be a nurse or something lol
Mine did that after my RNY, but they fill you with air for that one. I am not sure about after the surgery you just had. They said for my adominoplasty that I will have 2 drains, and to make sure all of the air is out. Maybe call the Doctor and ask? My mom is a nurse, and I make her deal with the drains...I don't look at them if I don't have to, and she does that all day long. On second thought, let me call her...She said it is ok, and it normal.
