My Dr put me on Lasix yesterday to help with the swelling. He told me to forget the compression garment since I never found anything to fit my waist and hips! I'm 4 weeks out today and are having a few really busy days of being up on my feet most of the day and OMG at the swelling!  The Lasix are 20 mil and says 1 twice a day. I had a friend tell me last night that after his PS he was taking mega doses of the stuff like 80 mil 2-3 times a day. He said that Lasix is not absorbed normally by us due to the bypass. Has anyone else taken this? How much? Did it work? I took 3 of the 20mil yesterday and I didn't pee anymore than usual but I did get diareaha! Go Figure!!!! Ok my post op pic up to 12 days are on my profile and I need to make another in that style but haven't yet. However I do have a pic from last week, WARNING is a little racy so don't look if you are easily offended but it does show off the work a little bit! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/sweetkc/IMG_1631.jpg Thank yall for the continued support!!!!

Please take the Lasix as prescribed.  It is not really intended to be used for this type of problem, so don't double up.  Drink tons of water with it so your kidneys can help flush out the fluid.  I was given one 20mg tablet to take over two days and it actually helped. I was also told I was over doing it and gently suggested that I had gotten into the salty snacks.  I had eaten the salty snacks.  I was still home resting.  Activity contributes to the swelling at the point you are at because it is serous fluid.  Mine was still regular fluid retention to a great deal.  14 pounds of it.  Take it easy, keep your feet up and use ice if it makes you feel better.  I found it soothing.  Hugs, Loris

I bought Lasix over the counter in Mexico for the swelling, but it really doesn't seem to help much.  I think the post-lipo work really does a number on me. At other times Lasix has a woosh effect and the water comes flowing off.
