It is good to hear that you are happy with the extended TT!  I will see what my plastic surgeon suggests at the end of this month.  Your advice is greatly appreciated!!!  Thank you!

I had a small pannus with not a lot of excess skin on my butt. However, my butt was pretty saggy...like one of the previous posters commented about the doc lifting up the butt skin and showing how it could be defined made the difference for me. So I had what I call a "limited" LBL - where he went around the back but not totally circumfrencial. He left about 4-5 inches above my butt crac****ouched.

I'm only 16 days out but I'm so glad I did the LBL instead of just tt. The pain around the backside is NOTHING...most of the pain (which is even less than I expected) is in the lower abs when the swelling hits at the end of the day. The cost difference was not really significant - it was more of a pain and scarring issue that I was considering. But I went for it and I'm glad I did.

I'm a PA and I took 3 1/2 weeks off. I go back the week of Sept 8th and I've made my schedule really light that first week. I don't know about floor nursing...I would give it 3 weeks min and then you'll probably be on a lifting restriction for another 3 weeks after that.

Thanks girlie.. I will look into the LBL most likely I am thinking.  Of course I will do whatever my PS recommends as he is awesome and has a wonderful reputation.  I cant wait to see him.

Sounds reasonable with the weight restriction and time off work.. Thanks for the input there as well!  You look terrific!

I'm having a TT next month.  My weight was mainly carried in my front as well.  My doc told me I really didn't need a LBL or even any lipo.  (But I've only lost 80 lbs.)  I'm actually having a TT and a BL-both for $11K.  I'm also a nurse (L&D) and my doc says definately at LEAST six weeks off because of all the tugging and lifting I do.  I also got a price break because I work at the same hospital he does (even though I'm actually using a surgery center) and that includes spending one night.  I think part of your decision should be based on your age and how you dress and your comfort level with how you look.  I'm 53 years old and have been married to the same man for 24 years.  All is want is for the "girls" to point straight up to heaven when I'm laying in my coffin!!  Good luck and I say put your trust in your doctor to guide you to the correct procedure for you.
