Logistics - Spanx, menstrual cycle, and using pads...

I had a tummy tuck on 10/1/08 and am doing great. Both drains are out and my surgeon said I could switch from the surgical abdominal binder to a Spanx-type garment a couple days ago. I bought the Spanx garment w/ the high waist that goes about half-way down my thigh. It has an open crotch so I can pee without having to squeeze myself in and out of the thing every time I need to go to the bathroom. The Spanx garment gives better overall control of my swelling than that surgical abdominal binder, so it really helps me feel better by the end of the day.
Here's my logistical problem... I use pads, hate tampons and my period is going to start in a week or so. I've been trying to figure out how to deal with the Spanx and a pad (I use ultra thin pads) without having to take the Spanx on and off each time I need to go to the bathroom. I've thought about tucking a pad up inside the open of the Spanx and wearing underwear over them, but am wondering whether that will really work or if I'll just make a mess...
Anyone else a pad user that has suggestions about how to stay in my Spanx and use pads without having to pull the Spanx up and down each time I go to the bathroom? I know it seems like a silly question, but the thought of having to go back to the abdominal binder for 4-5 days while I'm having my period makes me almost cringe. But it may also be easier than dealing with the Spanx... Help?

Good luck and that's just my opinion because I haven't had problem for many many years. I do wish you the best with this maybe it will come late or not at all.

I get what you?re saying, and honestly it?s not a silly question at all. Many people run into practical issues like this after surgery, and it makes sense you?d want to keep the Spanx on since it helps with swelling. Some pad users I know actually layer thin cotton underwear over the garment and tuck the pad securely that way, which keeps things in place without having to struggle in and out constantly. I?d agree with you that comfort and convenience matter most, and much like in other areas of logistics, finding the smoothest process makes a difference. Reduced Stress ? They handle issues like schedule changes, delays, or broker disputes, so you don?t have to deal with constant calls while on the road, and in that same vein, streamlining your approach here will save you from unnecessary hassle. I?ve seen similar discussions where people mention alternatives and tips, and one useful reference that often comes up in this context https://avnlogisticstm.com/truck-dispatch-services/ truck dispatching services. It really comes down to trying one method and adjusting as needed, rather than overthinking it before your cycle actually starts.
You could try using larger pads that will tuck into the Spanx opening. Either maternity pads or what they call 'abdominal pads'. I actually used the abdominal pads tucked into my compression garment to cover the open incisions I ended up with at the top of my thigh lift where my legs met my groin area. They are similar to feminine pads....but intended to cover abdominal incisions. You can find them at most medical supply places or an old fashioned drugstore like DrugMart.
The thin pads they have today will not work...but the thicker bigger ones stay in place rather well.
And, in the end, I distilled everything down to one wonderfully simple principle: win or die.
