Sleeping in abdominal binder?

I am 12 weeks post op as of yesterday.  I wear a spanx during the day while at work and I am trying now not to wear it so much during the day, but at night I wear my binder.  I sleep on my side and I feel the binder gives me the support I need.  I did have complications with healing so I wore mine longer.  I went and saw my General Surgeon two weeks ago and he told me the longer you wear it the better.  I met someone the other night who didn't wear her binder after ONE WEEK!  I could not believe it.  I guess it is whenever your doctor says it is okay and when you feel comfortable with taking it off.  I feel like my binder provides me support especially in the area where they took out my ventral hernia a size of a cantelope. Which gets sore after not wearing the binder for a couple of hours. Good luck to ya!
