How much surgery is too much at one time?

In my opinion I would do upper body @ 1 time & lower body another, you need your arms to help you up after a LBL. and when you have your arms done you need you lower body muscles to help pull you up.
that is how I did it plus I will not have 1 Dr. work on me for more then 6 hrs,I don't feel the Dr. is as good of a surgeon after 6 hrs .Also when I have surgery I will only be the first case if they have to make me second or third I will wait for a later date to be first. I don't want my PS working on someone else for hrs & then doing me, Drs. are only human and they get tired also

I had TT w muscle tightening together - no problrm, no pain
inner thigh, back & but lif = no problem no pain
blepharoplasty, lipo & Brachioplasty on Monday , I have been up walking around , driving & shopping since Thursday and no pain I can't carry anything but I am not still laying around. so the less you have done the easier & faster your recovery is.
it also depends on your age. I am 57 y.o.

Wow, your recoveries are remarkable.  Do you have a high tolerance of pain?  I'm 50 y.o. btw.

Personally I think it's too much.  I say that because all but 1 surgeon I consulted with said they would not do the arms with the LBL (you can't use your stomach muscles, you need your arms to get you up and down).  Also, if you are talking about a thighplasty (long incision to the knee) you might want to do more research.....everything I've been told and everything I read they say it should not be combined with the Tummy Tuck or LBL.  TOO MUCH cutting.....you have blood flow issues.

I chose to split mine up so my recovery wouldn't be too bad and I could recover from one before doing the next.

Trust me, originally I wanted to have it all done at the same time.  But as I learned more about the actual procedures and the toll it takes on the body I ended up splitting them up.  The only thing  I probably would have done differently is I would have done the Tummy Tuck with the rest of the LBL instead of seperating it but I did have the breasts done at the same time as the tummy.

Best wishes with your decisions and journey.

I believe it's a personal choice between patient and surgeon.

I do know that none of the plastic surgeons I consulted with would combine a lower body lift with any of the other procedures.  I did my LBL first, then my brach with BL/BA second, and finally my medial thigh lift.  The LBL recovery time was the longest but the most swelling and pain came from my medial thigh lift.  The arms and BL/BA was the easiest recovery for me.   But I could not see doing bottom and top at the same time if it could be avoided.

Hi!  Did you have the long incision with your inner thighs?  I'm preparing for that and kind of dreading the pain.... any insight would be appreciated!!
Thanks!

My legs and arms were not where I carried the most of my weight so neither involved major skin removal.  I could have gone without doing my thighs, but after the LBL and then the upper work, I hated to look in the mirror and see the area of 'coin purses' or ripples of loose skin on my upper inner thighs.

My incisions are called the 'hockey stick' incisions.  They start just above my knee on my inner thighs run up my leg almost to the crease where my legs connect to my body then bend forward and end on either side of my mons.  My incisions healed very well over time (very very thin and pale).  I did have some initial opening at the bend on both sides but you can't even tell where that was now.  It really freaked me out when they opened and I felt that I'd failed or done something wrong, but all turned out well.

The lipo he did at the same time made my thighs look like someone took a baseball bat to them.  I wore a compression garment from calf to high waist and added compression stockings because the fluid was going to my ankles badly.

I spent more time laid up after my MTL than I did with my LBL, primarily because of how bad the swelling got if I sat at my desk (I work from home on a computer).  After my LBL even my first day home I could sit down at my desk for half an hour and check email and things.  With the MTL when I tried that I could hardly walk when I stood up.  I just about lived on my bed with my laptop for over 2 weeks rather than deal with the swelling from sitting.  I would put my feet up as high as I could get them.  I also started lymphatic massage about a week out from surgery.  Pain was controlled with percocet at first and then Norco after about a week.  I didn't want the dilaudid offered because it really weirds me out.

Hope that helps.

What constitutes a medial thigh lift?

medial is a medical term for inner or middle.. so a medial thigh lift is an lift of the inner thighs.

I've heard some people mention a medial thigh lift as one where the incision is only in the groin area.  I've heard others use it for an inner thigh lift no matter what the incision is.

The medial thigh lift involves a cresent shaped flap they removed from the inner/upper thigh. The scar is hidden in the groin.

A full thigh lift involves a cut in the groin, front to back and a vertical cut to the knee. A flap of excess tissue is cut out, they you are sewn up both from the knee-to-groin and front to back of groin.

I had the full thigh with lipo, anchor cut LBL, BL/BA and brachio all at once....like Tammy Lynne..in fact, just days before her. The very next day,  I was up and assisted to the bathroom where I showered myself and walked back to bed. There was little pain (which shocked me no end...cuz I am a pain-wienie), but there was discomfort. Most of which was from the drains. And the anesthesia gave me a major headache which lasted 2 days.

On the second half of my second post-op day, I was at the hotel and like Tammy, went grocery shopping for stuff for my fridge.

I was told before being put out, that he may or may not be able do it all at once...he would know once he got going, apparently he managed. I would do it all over again. (except the drains, lucky for me, they were all out by day 9).

Hope this helps.
