How much should I expect out of an arm lift?

Hi Tegan!
I am 10 days post TT and Brachioplasty.  I am not at goal.  I am about 70lbs from goal.  My arms have always been bad. My left arm was 27 inches around and my right was 26.  I'm in Monterrey and Dr Sauceda did an extended brachioplasty with lipo.  The scars are extensive.  They run from my elbow to my arm pit and up the back of my arm pit.  From the back you can't see a scar except for the part that comes under the arm around to the back.

I have to say, my arms have improved 100%.  They are still very swollen, but I can see they are going to be good.  I had my surgery at this time because I am an avid swimmer & cyclist and the pannis and arms were keeping me from being as active as I could be.  My back problems were intense with my pannis as long and heavy as it was and my arms fly in my face and hit my head while I'm swimming.  Cycling was almost impossible with my stomach.  It hung down almost to my knees.  I know I will have to have revisions and I'm okay with that.  I just needed to get these two areas taken care of so that I can finish my WL journey.

I think if you're okay with a pretty long scar, you should be very pleased with your improvement post brachioplasty. And Lipo helps to make the shape much better if you have some fat still there.

I am with you..I can't wait to someday have the arms done. I swear I have dumbo arms.  I can't wait to have surgery and be able to wear short sleeves.

Went for my consult...$10,600 and that's with the discount since he knows my surgeon.

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

Wow.  That's terrible.  On average, brachioplasty usually runs 3-6K.  Mine is going to be $3900.  Have you tried other plastic surgeons?

Laura

PS  Noticed that we are surgery sisters- both Sept.08- congrats on your success!!

Are you kidding me?? I am going to check around then.  I wonder though if it's the amount of skin I have to remove. I literally have about 7 inches of hanging skin.

Congrats on your success as well..

I agree about the charge being quite high.  I live in Ca. where the fees are REALLY high and I'd say arms avg. about $7K here, or even a bit less.  Please do check around.
