So sorry you are going through all this. Like the old saying goes, "when it rains, it pours!" My cousin told me her ER experience was the worst one of her LIFE. She said it took her a long time to get over emotionally...I'm sure it will take you awhile too. Let's hope the worst is over!!

OMG - you've been busy having fun-NOT. How scary, but it's good that the seroma drained or it may have been a source of worse problems. And how embarrassing and painful to go to the ER for bowel impaction. YIKES. No wonder you're feeling down.

This will all be a dim memory in a few weeks when you see the great results and are starting to feel normal. In the meantime just keep doing what you have to do to heal and take good care of yourself.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting all of that. It's important for people to know what can happen and that other people are going through it if it's already happening to them. I appreciate your willingness to share and sincerely hope you feel better soon.

I know for me I have avoided horrible constipation with the psyllium as mentioned above (Metamucil pills and wafers) but with a LOOOOOTTTT of water. Also, I force myself to walk walk walk as much as possible. The nurses laughed at me after my lap band surgery because apparently I woke up saying, "OK, I'm ready to get up and walk. My nurse friend said I need to walk asap and I'm ready to walk!" I was walking around, with multiple nurses and my husband helping, before I remember waking up. lol The water and walking sure did help me... the Smooth Move tea is pretty helpful too. Good luck to you. I think you'll look and feel great soon!

It was a HUMILIATING and DEGRADING experience even though the Docs and nurses were very professional about the whole thing.
And I really hope that if nothing else, my sharing will maybe tell SOMEONE that their sluggish bowels are a problem to deal with NOW rather than LATER.

I am a walker too. I wanted up several times post op and was told "no way!" I have to fight my urge to get up and move on a daily basis - or else Ill do too much!

Keep your head up, the up side is that it is healing and that it is a common thing. I feel depressed as well after my surgery. I hope things get better for us!!!!!

God morning my friend,

I pray that you are feeling MUCH better today. Ididn't see your blog until this morning - when I got back to work. At 5 1/2 years out, believe me, I still have my moments. As we speak, I'm waiting on a call back from my ps in regards to my left arm brachioplasty. We're still working with that one. Most days, it's not even a thought - and then when I least expect it, it's more than a thought. It's an urgent desire to have it fixed...NOW! All things (complete healing) in time...and yes, this TOO shall pass and be a memory of our past!

Hang in there and be blessed always,
Rose
