I hate that I am a go, go, go person. I was expecting that two weeks post op brachio, flank excisioin, etc, I would be able to go go go go go. I get tired after about 2 hours of walking around and my swelling pushes on the incisions that go down the sides of my body. :-(

How long did it take before you were able to go and be fully recovered?

HI I had brachioplasty, breast lift with augmentation, and LBL 6 weeks ago. It took nearly four weeks to feel normal but my body still lets me know if i move wrong or over exert myself. I have full range of motion just alot of swelling and when i lay on my stomach or side i sometimes feel a burning and pulling sensation. It gets better and better just give yourself a few more weeks and listen to your body it knows whats best.. Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragement that I will feel better. I feel okay, I just expected to be moving along more/better. It is a weird feeling! LOL!

Give yourself a break.  You just had major surgery!  Everyone heals and recovers at their own pace.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I don't even think about my first surgery any more.  But just being up for and around for an hour or so, my thighs are swollen and I can't stand to walk with my legs together.  I have noticed that as I sleep better, my time up and about increases.

I go back to work today and I'm very grateful now more than ever that I have the opportunity to work from home.  I cannot even imagine having to get on a plane right now.  I think I'd have to be sedated.

Be patient.  I know - very hard to do when you just want to get on with things.

It took me about 4 weeks to really have the energy to do what I wanted, but I was having seroma problems and my surgeon wanted me to be on the "quiet and less mobile" side of things.  I wasn't released to full activity until we really had the seromas under control at about 6 weeks.

Like the OP said, this is MAJOR surgery. Your body is using a lot of that energy to heal not to mention the anesthesia still in your body. I understand how that is though. I hated not having the energy after my LBL too. Sometimes I think feeling tired often was as bad as the surgery too. I just wasn't used to feeling that way for such a long amount of time. I'd have this burst of energy and then all of a sudden, BAM it was gone! Needless to say, I did as much as I possibly could within reason during those windows of extra energy.

Just be patient. You'll notice those spurts of energy last longer and longer.
