4 years post op
I am four and a half years post op and I just can't be completely happy. I started out at 308 now I am 165. I am blessed to have lost that much weight but I am not comfortable in clothes or to excersise the way I want. I really want to have a body lift but I can't afford it. People don't understand when I tell them I am not happy because I have lost so much weight. I feel like I haven't completed my jouney. I can dream about the way I want to be but I think it is out of my reach. Any encouraging words?---Pennisweet
Hi there,
I had my PS when I was 4 years out and I felt the same way. But, even now with PS, I still have self image issues about my body. I am thinking of starting counseling---because I am never happy.
If I were you, I would save for PS. Can you refinance, take a second, get surgery loan anything/
Best,
Kim

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with accepting yourself after weight loss. I believe unless you have walked in a person shoes then you can't relate to what they are feeling. I know from experience how you are feeling and I pray that you will find a way to fix your situation.
For me, I saved and cut back on everything for a year because I knew I needed to have my breast and abdomen done. When I started making my consultation rounds with plastic surgeons I found out my insurance might pay for my tummy tuck (and they did) so I really got excited. If you have health insurance you might be able to get some of your work paid for by your insurance carrier. Please don't give up until you have exhausted all of your resources.
Best of Luck.

I say do what it takes to get what you need to be happy. Dont let all your happiness depend on it, but this is YOU. Youre worth it.
