I want them out!

Okay I am not new to the whole drain thing.  This is my second round with plastic surgery.  However  my drains are killing me.

First off I am in this garment that is from my breast bone to my calves.  I have two drains on both sides each where the zippers and hooks for my garment are and then two in my groing area.

I have two drains the upper ones that could have come out on tuesday but when I checked them yesterday they went back up.  So I am glad that they did not come out but on the other hand I am so ready for them to come out.

Does anyone have any advice for the drains and how to get the out as soon as possible.

My family is also stressed because my grandma is very sick.  She is in the hospital and it looks like her bowel is paralized.

Please help and pray.

I feel your pain. Mine were only in for one week this time but all four were in my groin and painful. They came out Monday and the area is still hurting. Ice packs always help with swelling so it might slow your output enough to get them removed.

Drains are a necessary evil.  The ones in my arms weren't bad, mostly because they came out quickly.  The ones in mons were uncomfortable, mostly because they were bulky and just in the way.  Two of them started getting a little tender around the insertion point.  Before they were too irritated they were removed.

Now the drains in my thighs - those were the worst.  Not only were they in the way, but the right one at one point pulled out enough to lose suction.  My ps would only leave them in so long regardless of the output.  Once he pulled them out, I was incredibly happy.

Your body is going to do what it's going to do, I don't think there's any way to rush the process.  Make sure you clean the areas around the insertion points good and that should help with the soreness too.

Hi Jasmine,

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma! Such stress, especially at this time, is so difficult.

So this advice might not be possible, but rest with your legs up as much as possible and drink as much water as you can 64oz+ a day. Fluid flushes fluid.

Praying for you and your family,
Rachel
