Hi All

Going on Friday for my Consultation for a LBL here in Pennsylvania. I was reading and have seen many people have used Dr. Sauceda in Mexico. His quote on his site lists $7200 and a 12 day stay. Before I call there and ask other questions. Anyone else have the LBL and how much more out of pocket money will it be around? I mean thats not including hotel and whatever else I would need right? I mean I know I need the flight out there but is there anything else. Also do we have to fly out there for the consultation in addition?

I contacted Dr. Sauceda and have chatted with people who have gone to him. From what I understand, his prices do include the required stay AND the flight there. For recommended procedures, you can send him your pics via email and he will give you a list of procedures and prices. From what I understand, he discounts his prices once he starts putting procedures together.

I have been e-mailing him for the past few days - he will want pics and then he will give you a price. The prices you see will only go down as he discounts for the more items you do. It does include hotel and airfare - no meals (except in the medical facility). I am seriously considering using him.

So we don't need to make a trip just for the consultation? We can do it by just sending pics? His website shows 7200 for a LBL. Thats more then half of what it would cost me here. As much as I dont want to be there for 12 days that is a lot of money

I know Baylor University in Houston is around $8000-$9000.....my local doc is around $15,000.....but more important than that is I like the fact he works with so many post-bariatric patients. E-mail him and see what you think.

Lap Band

If your procedures total $6K or more he will cover your flight up to $600.00. He covers your hotel stay also. He gives you two compression garments, a visiting nurse to your hotel room each morning to help you shower and change your dressings and he will visit you each day as his OR schedule allows. He also will arrange pick up and drop off for the airport. You will stay in the clinic post operatively for a day or so - and during that time you will be given pain meds via your IV line.

I went there over a year ago and am planning to return in a few months for the rest of my procedures. He's excellent!
