Approved for Panni
I'm totally new to this and have been on my WLJ for about 2 going on 3 yrs. My weight was lost through dieting and exercise and not it's time to remove the extra skin. As of 2 days ago I was approved for my panniculectomy which is scheduled for Aug 3. I'm super excited but NERVOUS as well. Can anyone of you lovely new friends lead me to a little bit of comfort before I do go under in 2 weeks. Any advice or prepping tips would be appreciated.
Congratulations, on losing all on your own and keeping it off, and for getting insurance to pay for you PS.
Your day will creep upon you fast, so be prepared for that...Wear lose fitting clothes, something that buttons, snaps, or zips up the front with a lot of room...Be sure to have a stool softener for right after surgery..the pain meds will make you very constipated..TAKE THEM EVERYDAY EVERY TIME YOU TAKE A PAIN MED...Have extra protein on hand, meds, magazines, phone, books, and whatever you need close by...Walk often after surgery and drink lots of water, eat ice, eat Popsicles, etc to keep you going, and going, to keep the swelling down as much as possible...
Your day will be here soon...and you will be a new you...!

Did you ask about upgrading to a full tummy-tuck with muscle repair? The cost difference is usually pretty low and people seem to be much happier if the get the full tummy-tuck.

No, didn't look into doing the full TT due to cost issues since my INS is covering the procedure. I'm actually happy to just have the skin removed and I will just work myself out to get me all the way together. I just consider it a blessing being able to continue my journey to physical, mental and emotional strength. I think after the surgery I will be able to see and accept the fact that I've lost 102 lbs and be proud while still pushing towards my goals. Keep me in your prayers all and have a great Friday and wonderful weekend!
My TT is the day after yours. I am having a hernia removed so that is the only reason my insuirance will pay for the tt. It is a HUGE hernia. I have lost almost 2/3 of my body mass since RNY but since I am having issues with my hernia we r not waiting until January like originally planned. Can I ask wat is the difference between TT and full TT? He said he was going to tighten me up but is it just lower or is it full abdomen. I have another appt for pics and consent next Wednesday , can't wait? What questions should I ask?
