Back to work?!

So depressed today...I will be three weeks out tomorrow from my Tummy tuck w/level 3 lipo, muscle tightening, Breast augmentation with lipo of "side boobs." I thought for sure by three weeks I'd be ready to go back to work. So today I tried. I work at a dental office, I am the front desk receptionist and today went in for the first time since surgery. Within two hours of just sitting upright in my chair the pain was awful. I am still in my binders, Thank the Lord (they feel so good to wear). I made it four hours at work before I couldn't take the burning feeling of my incisions and could hardly stand up straight. I was even worried about driving home. By the time I got home I crashed on the couch and slept for three hours! When did you guys go back to work...and man am I so bummed! I thought I could handle returning so soon, but now am panicking like I'm not gonna make it! Words of wisdom wanted!

I took off 8 weeks and 9 would have been better.  The first 2 weeks back were hard.

Oh, so sorry that you are having a difficult time adjusting to back to work. Seems like everyone has a different experience when it comes to healing. Please take it easy on yourself.

My surgeon wouldn't sign the release to go back to wor****il I'd been out for 5 weeks.  The first week back I only worked part time.

Yeah I'm a little worried - I drive for Fedex and will be going back after 4 weeks - thankfully I didn't need any muscle work. I am going to have my wife and brother take turns being my "runner" for a few weeks just to be safe, but still worried about bouncing around in the truck.

I eased myself back in at 4 weeks, but I wasn't full time right away.

Take it easy!

When I go back it will be almost 7 weeks post-plastics (2.5 weeks away). I worry I will still be exhausted then. Can you take more time off work? Hope you get your energy back soon!!

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes and concern. I am very lucky to have a great boss and co-workers who fully support my healing process. I could take more time off from work but I run the front desk and there is only one other girl that shares my job upfront. I know how hard it is to do the job alone so I am feeling my own pressure of returning to help her. I plan on trying again this Monday, but may have to ease back into it slower than planned. I guess even an hour here or there is better than nothing. Trying to just take it easy while I can this weekend. Thanks everyone and hope your all healing well yourselves!!!
