and the news just keeps getting better...Not!

Hi guys. I am on a lay over returning from a vacation in NY for the last week. While there I recvd a call from my surgeon's office that my surgery has been bumped once again...to Aug 22.

I was not as nice this time. The poor woman got an ear full.

I am beyond bummed. I actually cried about it. I know it is only a 2 week change from the orig date but it means the world to me. My date of Aug 8 was made in Feb.  I have worked on my weight, my conditioning and my psyche in that time. I know you guys understand...my family does not.

Anyway...what can I do? I gotta be a big girl and deal. But I don't have to like it.
Good thing I love my surgeon.
Notice...HE is not the one who calls me! It is some flunky resident that gets my wrath.

Anyway...I have checked in while on vacay to see how all my buds are doing. But really only had time to read, not post. But I wanted to say hi...ok, and whine a bit.

Back home in a few hours and back to work in the morning.

Now...for a bright side? I guess I have 3 weeks to work off the carbs I indulged in while in the Northeast!

And I can so relate...with the Doctors Strike here in Israel since April...
I have been postponed twice and my op was scheduled in November pf 2010 for April 2011-aaargh!
I am rescheduled for pre-op this Thursday and I was called by the Plastics Department this morning to remind me of my upcoming appointrment.
I just hope there no more postponements for you or for me!

As heart breaking as it is right now, it will happen when it's  the RIGHT time.

Man do I feel for you. I got a call two days before my scheduled surgery that my surgeon had an emergency and had to cancel my surgery for that Friday and had no new surgery date for me at that time. You wanna talk about an ear full! His poor surgery scheduler got not only an ear full, but an arm, leg, and butt full! I literally balled my eyes out and demanded a new date ASAP. I was a full cash paying patient and how dare they do this to me. The next day she called and said my surgeon was in the works of getting together a team to come in on that Saturday and do the surgery. He followed threw on that promise and only one day later was I in the OR for my surgery. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Just an extra day killed me. I don't think they understand what emotionally we go threw trying to prepare ourselves for what changes we are about to put ourselves threw. I don't think they understand the long, hard-work journey we've been on to even get to the point of starting plastics. What our hopes, fears, and concerns are. They just don't get it! I will keep you in my prayers that your date come quick and your mind and heart prepare for it! Try not to worry too much. You'll be there before you know it and looking hot hot hot! Best of luck!

I'd also be looking for a new surgeon. Two reschedules and the doc can't give you the courtesy of a call to apologize? Heck no!

I feel for you. They tried to reschedule my surgery because the hospital was changing the days my surgeon had access to the operating rooms. Due to work schedule and time off I told them it wasn't possible so they called the hospital and told them they had to honor my oringial surgery date since it was scheduled before they made their change. Did they give you a reason for the reschedule? If it was the hospital or did the surgeon decide to take some time off. It it is because the surgeon changed his schedule I'd be very upset and cause a stink to see if could be done on the original date or closer to it. They need to realize that we have schedules and jobs that we need to work & coordinate schedules, caregivers and such as well.
