Freaking out about upcoming surgery

My surgery date is August 24th in Scarborough, ON.
I'm having the fleur de lis tummy tuck after losing 320 lbs.
OHIP is covering half.
I had an attempted panni last year in the city I live and ended up in emergency surgery
to stop excessive bleeding.  I woke up in ICU.  The PS had said that I had enlarged veins all
through my abdomen and he couldn't complete the pani surgery so he just closed me up half done.  He also said I had a hernia he didn't realize I had before surgery.  (never really checked me for that anyways).  He said I had these enlarged veings because I probably had liver disease or heart problems.  Needless to say I felt sick for months until I could get my liver and heart checked out and come to find I have NO liver or heart problems.  I was referred to a PS in Scarborough who said it is common for people who has lost lots of weight to have enlarged veins.  She is not worried about doing my surgery.  When I got the operative report from the last surgery last year it said that there was a small spurting arteriole that had been left bleeding inside of me and that I had lost half of my total blood volume.  I guess I came close to dying and now that my new surgery date is coming up i'm beside myself with fear.  LOL
I'm 46 years old with no health problems so I guess my question is do you guys think I'm crazy for going for it again.  I have been told by serveral drs. that this PS that did my last surgery was incompetent but I can't get it through my head and relax so any words of wisdom you could offer me would be appreciated.  One good thing is this new PS gave me the option of up-paying to a fleur de lis.

P.S. Is there some kind of drug they could give me from now to then to make me calm down.
JUST KIDDING    "maybe"

Girl it sounds like you have been to hell and back like me.  Well I freaked out but had my surgery anyway 11 days ago.  Insurance wouldn't pay for exactly what I wanted but I got dang close.

My hernia was pretty much an emergency ventral hernia repair.  Insurance would onlly cover panniculectomy if medically necessary (which mine was) so the Cheif PS and General surgeon which of whom is also board elligible for PS certification worked together and gave me everything anchor cut TT with abd wall repair and ventral hernia repair minus lipo.

My tummy is freakin tight lol, with binder off still feels like one is on lol.   My lady parts I was concerned about and they took great care to give me back the normal look.  Hernia was so bad I lost my belly button which they said I could get a new one later but I am ok without it lol.

I am only 11 days out and if I could I would jump up and down.  I might even try to jog some day.

I hope you get this soon, you will be so happy.  Please hand it over to God and don't let it  get as bad as mine.  Update us alot.  Oh I went to sleep seems like I woke up 5 min later and it was done.  looked down and saw tummy gone, smiled and went back to sleep lol.

Thanks Carla!  I've been so nervous I actually thought of cancelling the surgery.  But the failed operation last year left me pretty disfigured as my belly button was pulled down to my pubic region and left there when he closed me back up.
I do trust God and have since the beginning of my journey but I guess the worry wart in me
can't let go of what happened last year.  LOL  I can't even imagine what I will look like without the tummy.  I have been been coming on Obesity Help for years but rarely post.  My RNY was so successful I sometimes feel like I'm dreaming after 25 years of being super morbidly obese.  I just want to look normal and get rid of this skin.  I can't believe I'm actually considering other Plastic surgery after this one too, if I can save the money.  I'm hoping to be back at work in 2 weeks since my job is a desk job I think it is doable.

It's nice having a forum like this to read about each others progress and good and bad.

Sandy
