Thanks, I feel better today. I feel a little less pain. I have also been taking the meds at my scheduled times and eating right. Thanks for the response.

I'm 11 weeks post op from fleur de lis abdominoplasty & brachioplasty.  My legs were in good shape and I used them to squat, get in/out of chair, bed, etc

Use pillows to keep legs and upper body "bent" to take tension off abdomen.  Take stool softners as long as you are on narcotics.

I had protein shakes with frozen fruit in the blender.  Your body needs extra protein (I tried for 130 gm a day) to heal.  You need to increase your protein for a couple months.  Also get plenty of fluids to keep strength and fight constipation.

Stay "on top" of pain with pain meds.  Helps with moving around and breathing deeper to prevent pneumonia and blood clots.

It gets better every day.  Don't push - listen to your body.  It is OK to nap or go to bed early if your body is worn out.

I had a complication (open wound from tissue death) so my belly is still sore and achy and I can't lift my 3 yr old granddaughter yet.

Wishing you the best.

Wow, sorry to hear of your complication, thank you for the great advice. I will try the extra protein and the pillows. I try to get up every couple of hours to walk around, I think its helping. What types of stoole softners did you take?

I used senekot+S - but that's a mild one.  You might need something stronger from the pharmacy or your dr.  Probably one of the mostly painful things in my first 5 days was that first BM!! lol

Thanks. i have'nt really been eating much and when I do its been something soft. I have been getting fuller faster. I hope by next week I can do a bit more. My back is really sore right now from being crouched constantly and from sleeping in the recliner. Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it.

I was the same...and then suddenly dropped a ton of weight (no wonder, not eating).  Good idea to drink a protein shake or two during the day to keep your cals and protien up....

Wow, sorry to hear that. I hope it gets better for you. Im out 5 days today and so far yesterday and today would have to be rated the same. Not much better but a little less pain so I'll take it. I'm not miserable anymore, just semi-miserable. I also got my drains coming out tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.
