from TT/LBL - I'm officially joining the ranks of those who sleep on sofas. In fact I'm still in the hospital b/c of LBP. I have the OnQ and + dilaudid every 4 hours. The worst part for me is getting out of bed b/c the pressure on my entire stomach is so intense . I really apologize for sounding like such a wimp to anyone considering this procedure. I don't regret it at all I just hate pain. It's interesting how much everyone's experience can be so different but I was prepared for the constant thanks to all of you. heart, heart, heart --Carolyn

Congrats and I feel your pain, well maybe not as bad as yours is, but I hope you have a speedy recovery. For me the worst day was day 3. It may be 3-5 for you. But I am a lot better now. You will be to. Just take it easy, and take your pain meds every time you need to take them.

Hope you feel better.

Don't be discouraged...I remember day two for me was by far the worst! Keep up on the pain meds. I promise each day and week that passes will be better and soooo worth it! Keep your chin up and get lots of fluids and protein. Let me know how you are!!!

its normal to feel the way you do. I gets better everyday but it does take time.  I am three weeks out tommorrow, I can sleep in my bed and actually on my stomach.  I still have one drain left, for me thats the worse part and now its the discomfort of the swelling, its a process.  Its behind you now so there is no turning back , just moving ahead.

It'll all be worth it! Keep the end prize in mind!

Carolyn honey, you are not a baby at all, just normal, lol.  Take the pain meds around the clock while you are there in the hospital.  Do not pu**** at all.  Take your time.  It does get better each day but in little steps.

I am so impatient lol I expected to just get up and be normal at 1 week out lol.  I am 3-weeks post-op with minimal pain now.  My problem is energy.  I get so darned tired so quick and need a nap lol.

Please take it easy on you.  Drink lots of decaff fluids and up your protein for healing.  Walk a little each day and don't worry about standing up straight for a few weeks.

Thanks for a ll the support, you guys are amazing. I'm home from the hospital and it feels great! I do feel better today - not a lot but better is better. It's so helpful to hear from those of you further out otherwise I would think there was something wrong w me. So many great ideas too like having access to a walker and getting a raised toilet seat, placement of drains, I could go on and on and on. It's also really great be home with my isopure & homemade chicken soup!

The early days are the toughest and makes you question your decisions. It will keep getting better and better and soon it will be a distant memory. The amazing changes and results will last a lifetime. Hang in there, Sweetie! Better days are coming!

You are so nice! It is getting a little bit better everyday. You are so right about questioning choices -I question this choice all the time - like why would someone put themselves through this???- WLS was a picnic compared to this - but it is getting better and thank you for your very kind words --Carolyn

Thank you!   I still can barely look @ the incisions except when changing dressings. It really is amazing though, I carried most of my weight in the midsection so it so to have a falt stomach is like the impossible dream!
