Well thanks Penny I feel more normal not lol.

I am 49 with 3rd stage heart disease and this surgery did knock the air out of me pretty good.  I feel better about the swelling now.

I just have to be more patient and stay slowed down.  I am however going shopping and out to dinner with my baby girl (20) today is her B-day.  I will take is slow though.

I am averaging 200 grams protein a day, avoiding salt like the plague, I am drinking alot but I am increasing and its always decaff.  I use ice bag sometimes when I swell alot.   I spend a lot of time in recliner these  days.

Like the others said - I think the swelling can be normal, even if you didn't have it before.

I had my TT/arms done in October, and rarely had any major swelling at all.  Sometimes I was a bit puffy near the "T" of my anchor incision late in the day - but that was it.

I had my breast lift/scar revision done 3.5 weeks ago - and NOW my belly swells like mad!  Yesterday I was up and about early, packing our new trailer and then in making dinner for about 30 people coming for my kids birthday party.  REALLY busy and stressful day.  At the end of the day - my hourglass waist had disappeared!  I was swollen like a tree trunk!  And it HURT!! This in not the first time this has happened to me.

I think it is because this surgery is so much easier in terms of recovery...I forget that I HAD surgery and I do too much.  Last time I was forced to slow down more.

I guess I just forget that I am getting older and don't bounce back as fast anymore.

The initial swelling at post-op dissapeared more and more each day.  I was so flat week two that I was amazed.

Now I start swelling mid afternoon to evening and sometimes it does hurt and is so tight and starts pulling me forward.

I feel better hearing from you guys that I am pretty much noraml.

Thanks Carla

Walmart carries some really nice high waisted body shapers and I just bought one that you can wear with your bra that has straps so it will not roll.

Just keep your reciept and try on different ones.  This the cheapest prices on body shapers I could find and they really do help.  you can also get a binder at CVS or Walgreens and maybe Walmart that you might want to get to wear at night with gives alittle different compression and is easy to go to bathroom.

I can't stand to be without my support and it helps with healing alot.
