Speaking of water weight...anyone else extra puffy after plastics?

5 and a half weeks out now. Been back at my desk job for 2 weeks.

I am so swollen at the end of the day!!

Belly, hips, legs and feet. Looking like Miss Piggy for crying out loud.

My nursey mind would say that I am sitting alot and this tight compression garment around my torso is creating the problem.

But it sucks!!

Trying to get up for short walks as work allows.
Minding my sodium intake.

Anyone else experience this?

How long did it last?

I'm petrified of the scale because I know I am heavy...I can just feel it!

Tell me I am not alone.

You are definitely not alone!!!  Hate to tell you but I'm 4 months out, but only 1 month out from a revision, and I'm still retaining water.  I can barely get my rings on my fingers.  It's really weird in many ways but my body is still not back to normal.  I don't HURT but I still feel many sensations from the surgery and I know that my body is just not 100% back to normal yet.

I need to drink more water, watch my sodium, etc but I don't!  LOL!

Well...thanks alot Friend!!!

I'm kidding. Thanks for letting me know I need to be realistic.

But I'm feeling it too...from my tight rings down to my tight (cute) high heels!!

Hard to keep the sodium down as I am a salty food eating fiend!
Sugar doesn't tempt me. But I find it hard to pass up beef jerky!

I am also 4 months out and still swelling a lot.  I work 12 hour nights as an RN and at the end of each shift, I have gained 5 to 7 lbs of fluid.  After sleeping all day, I usually am down 3 or 4 but at the end of my long stretch of 3 to 4 shifts (on call included) I am up sometimes 20 lbs.  It sucks!  My thighs and back, tummy and ankles swell the most.  My face was even swollen last week and someone mentioned it.  It's just a part of plastics as our body seeks collateral circulation.  In 2009, when I had my TT and Brachioplasty done, I dealt with edema for about 6 months.  It does get better the further you go!  I have gone without my garment just to test the swelling and the swelling has increased if I'm not wearing it.  So I wear it!
