Hostile takeover already??? Some partner you are!! I did say co-founder--sheesh! LOL! But any friend of Warren Buffett is a friend of mine--just bring the bags of money and you've got yourself a deal!!

Tomorrow is the big day. Cross your fingers for me. Looks like I'll be able to get 3 of 4 out unless they are feeling generous and want to take out stubborn drain #2. That beyotch is just not letting up! Can I tell you how exciting it is to go 12 hours and have almost nothing in the other drains though??

By the way, did yours hurt when they came out or just feel weird? I know my drain after bypass was more weird than pain, but I'm worried these damn things have grown to be part of my insides!

Well, you have a good, drain-free day!!!

Denise

Warren said he would have to get back to me, or at least that is what I gathered from the answering machine said. By bag of money I might have to go with the xsmall ziploc sandwhich bags for now, as I am on the ramen noodle and kool aid diet as the medical bills from my little hospital stay are rolling in but I'm workin on that HOSTILE takeover don't worry I won't let you down.

I know the excitement and feeling of frustration at same time of the drains, be prepaired if they only pull out 3 of them that fourth one may pull up the slack like mine did and double or triple output for a while.

I had 5 drains total, I always thought the ones that were in the longest and where they were located would be factors for pain. I had 2 that stung a little, 2 I didn't feel at all and one that just was weird like you were saying about your bypass drain. It didn't seem to matter about location or timing at all like I though it might.
If you can tell your surgeon maybe they can pull 2 at once like they did on me, it seemed to help wiht the whole experience.

Soon you to will have a good, drain- free day!!! (Good luck)

I can't beileve Warren is letting you subsist on ramen noodles and kool aid. Some friend he is! I actually have a cookbook--101 ways to prepare ramen noodles. Let me know if you need a copy! :) On a serious note, can you believe the money spent on this stuff? And you paid for your weight loss surgery out of pocket too, didn't you? Man, that is BRUTAL. But I always say, thank God the money was there to be spent (providing that was the case for you and if not, thank God for good credit cards!).

Well, not drain free yet, but 1/2 way there. I will admit it is much better with only the two. So far there hasn't been any dramatic increase in the remaining two. I'll keep these drains crossed that maybe early next week they can be gone. My birthday is on the 21st and I'd really like to celebrate without my two friends affectionately known as drains 2 and 4. We are going to the Renaissance Festival and I don't think my fanny pack drain holder was in style in Medieval times. On the bright side, most everyone is drunk and would probably not even notice!

Hope things are continuing to go well at work.

Busily preparing my defense of the hostile takeover,

Denise

AARGGHH! Had my whole message typed out then power surge hit, oh well can probably use the rain.

Yah Warren can be a SOB but I love the guy, I was thinking of getting him a solid gold walker for next birthday. Too much maybe? Love ramen noodles but probably last thing we should be eating at this point. Yah getting healthy is crazy expensive yo! That's the problem it's out of every pocket I have plus a couple other people's too, I think I have spent about 23-24 grand between sleeve, plastics, and doctors visits not counting my unexpected visit from the Blood Clot Boys. My folks did give me 7,000 towards my WLS so that helped a bunch, everything else to this point has been 401k loan. Figured if I didn't lose weight I wouldn't be around to collect it. I am going to deduct this surgery on my taxes, other people have done it and I have letters from my doctors saying it was medically necessary to get it done for my health.

Glad to hear it, 2 down 2 to go. I think mentally it helps not to mention just moving around and stuff, hopefully your last 2 will not notice their friends are gone and pick up the slack. Number 1 a fanny pack is really old so it will blend in, number 2 their isn't much festive about a fanny pack so don't worry. Take pepper spray and a taser with you and keep your hubby close there are a ton of pervs at these things, I should know I'm still trying to get the restraining order overturned LOL. IT's funny my birthday is 12/21 my dad still wants a refund or store credit as I was his xmas present. Can't wait to see how this Mayan calendar thing works out for me, makes me feel special LOL.

Work is cool no pain meds needed anymore. I work with two others in my office one of whom is from India brought me in some authentic chicken curry. Holy Crap talk about clear nasal passages deep breath at the top of the mountain pass me a gallon of milk I'm going back in for seconds. She asked me, this is cute (YOU WANT MORE HOT) I summoned what little testosterone I had left and was like this is good. I sounded like Mickey Mouse I just know it. But it was really good, took me 3 days to eat whole thing. I hate to brag but I think I'm one of lucky one's with my bariatric surgery I don't have any problems with any foods I have found to date after the first 1 1/2 after surgery. I think I handle it better know than when I was big.

Sorry for rambling slow day with the rain out here. You should be getting a call from my lawyer Dewey Cheatum and his assistant Mr. How any day about hostile takeover.

Bubba

Okay, I'm going to quit hitting reply to the individual post because it is making it into this teeny weeny column and it doesn't fit on my laptop. Doesn't it suck when you've typed a big old note and it gets sucked into cyberspace. I do appreciate you re-typing it as I have now spit a hard cider onto my computer AND peed in my pants from laughter. Thanks for that.

I think the solid gold walker sounds perfect. Guessing that should clean out the rest of the 401K, as well as all of the change from under your couch cushions. I have spent almost exactly what you have. Plastics were 22K and I spent about a grand for my bypass--thank God for good insurance, but it was literally down to like 3 days before the procedure before they approved it. I was prepared to go out of pocket though. I was dead woman walking. I totally agree with what you said about spending it now or not being around to cash in the 401k.  My mom died suddenly on 4th of July 2008. After that I said I knew I didn't have any guarantee of any quantity of time on this planet, but I could afffect the quality of the time I had left, so with that I decided to have gastric bypass. I figured I could either die a slow, miserable death, or die trying. Thankfully neither was the case. I'll definitely be talking to my accountant about writing off the plastics on taxes, because I too have letters of medical necessity from not one but three providers. That would be the coolest thing ever and I would owe you a debt of gratitude because I would have never thought of that! Granted, it would stay a debt forever because I'm greedy like that, but it is the thought that counts.  :)

LMAO about the Renaissance Festival. I briefly contemplated getting one of those corset numbers since this is the first year I'd actually be able to carry it off and not frighten the revelers. Figured I could hide drains in my new cleavage, but I thought better of it when I realized I may suffocate myself with my still swollen boobs. Funny thing is I notice all the women that wear the super tight, cleavage enhancing corsets really shouldn't. It goes back to my motto--just because you can, doesn't mean you should!! I'll hit the Walmart later and grab up the pepper spray and taser--you can never be too safe.

12/21 birthday--funny coincidence.  Ha, ha, I'm older!! Okay, I really have no idea how old you are, but I was born earlier in the year so that makes me natural choice for leader and supreme ruler of DRAINERS. And even though you were a disappoinment as an x-mas gift, dad still kicked 7 grand toward your surgery--that is pretty cool.  Does anyone else in your family have a weight issue? My dad weighed 450 pounds when I was born. He managed to lose 200 pounds before he died at 53. Man, the fates have been none to kind--two dead parents. How suckish is that?!?

I just had my first ever Tikka Masala the other day. Um, yeah. It should come with a side of fire extiguisher! I knew i should have thought twice when I had to sign that waiver! I can deal with spicy, but I'm not a fan of the it's so hot it melts your tongue so you can't taste anything but fire kind of spicy. I'm also very lucky (or unlucky depending) that there is virtually nothing I can't eat. Certain cereals make me feel a little ill, but not much beyond that. Does your surgery restrict what you eat volume wise or is it malabsorption or what? I really know nothing about any surgery other than the bypass, lap band, and duodenal switch.

Well, I'm glad I was able to return the rambling. It is pouring here today and my back is killing me for some reason, so it's recliner, Vicodin, heating pad, and more sleep for me. So glad I don't have to work--sorry, don't mean to rub it in. Yeah, I actually do! LOL!

You can tell Dewey, Cheatum, and How that I will only speak directly to Mr. Buffet regarding said attempt at hostile takeover. And if things don't improve soon with my back, I'll be needing one of those solid gold walkers so perhaps you can work that into your takeover deal.

Have a good day and don't work too hard! Iknow I won't! :)

Denise
