Am I Dreaming???
Way before the sun came up on Wednesday morning, I checked into the hospital to have a panniculectomy and abdomnioplasty. I was scared to death to have surgery, but my preop nurses helped me to settle some of my fears.
Soon my surgeon came in and marked my abdomen and back for the procedure then I laid back in the bed and was soon wheeled to the OR. I met everyone who was going to be in the OR and then moved over to the table. The next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. Shortly there after I was taken to my hospital room where my husband was waiting.
My doctor requires a 2 night hospital stay. The nurses were wonderful! They wanted you to have the best possible stay while you were there.
The thing I must be dreaming about is that I have absolutely no pain! The only thing I do have is a little burning sensation as I move positions. I didn't need to use my pain pump at all in the hospital. My nurses were shocked and said you don't have to be a hero, and I said I'm not trying to be one...I just don't hurt.
Today I got to come home! Yea... I took some pics before surgery on Tuesday night and then some Thursday night before I showered. I will try to post when I can. I am still in shock. My belly is completely gone! The nurses and the doctor said you will be so happy when all of the swelling is gone. I'm thinking I'm so happy now....I can't even tell if there is swelling....
I am taking it very easy. After my RNY, I started excercising too soon and my scar became wide and purple. I looked like I had an earhworm going down my stomach. I learned my lesson and said it will be a least a year before I step foot in a gym this time....lol
I knew you would come out ok!
I am so glad to hear you are painfree, especially after all your prior surgeries. I remember when they were marking me. They had to keep telling me to stop wiggling and turning around. It was ticklish and I wanted to see! After they finished marking, he explained all the marks and the reasonings. I don't remember going very far from the prep room. I was given something to relax me, and that's all she wrote until I woke up in my room.
Isn't it the strangest feeling to see "IT" gone!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
