Thanks, Mrs, Claus! I'm still in the middle of the recovery process, but yes, at this point I would say I would definitely do this again. In fact, at some point in the next year, I will do my arms and the skin that hangs out of the top of my bra in back.

I think the hardest part so far has been the fact that the thigh recovery is taking longer than I'd hoped -- although my surgeon had warned me that that is the longest recovery, so I'm not out of the norm. But having to minimize activity to keep those incisions from being pulled has been difficult after the first few weeks. Being unable to do a lot of things means I'm sittng and lying around a lot, and that makes it more difficult for me to stay away from unnecessary or unhealthy eating. I am really looking forward to just being able to take a simple walk when I am tense or antsy.

Oh, and the drains became really uncomfortable after about a week or so. Not painful, but definitely uncomfortable.

Other than that, the recovery has gone well. No major pain, more like discomfort. And after a few days of needing a lot of help and a few more of needing a little help, by about 7-10 days out I was able to pretty much fend for myself.

Hope that helps as you make the best decision for yourself!

 Laura:

You do look great!  I will be having my backside done next Spring.  I have the FDL TT and I noticed that my tummy is really flat but my upper portion of the FDL is loose.  I will be having a revision to that but I have decided to do the rear first.  Maybe by pulling up and cutting away the loose backside, it will help with some of the looseness in the front.  We shall see.  I am really just now able to get back to the full swing of walking for a hour a day.  It does take awhile to get your full momentum back on track.

Thanks, Tess! I'm trying to remember that my body will never be perfect and that's okay. [Repeat mantra here until I truly believe it!] It's just a matter of deciding which things bother me enough to decide to change them.

Good to know about your exercise ramp-up time. I will *try* to be patient!

Best,
Laura

I think you and I have a ton in common...the same pre op jelly ball, lol, I can so relate...and we both run. I think the past pain recovery period will be difficult for me as well, I  d not sit around too well. This will be a challenge all around.
I have been riveted by the opening wounds, which I have been forwarned about. I so want to avoid that and the added heal time, ahhhh!
Your results look great, I am sure you (and I) can not wait to run without that belly and thigh jiggle!!!!
