Thigh Lift - Scars along inner thigh - worth it or not??
I also developed seromas (my drains fell out early) and that made walking uncomfortable for a bit. However they did clear up and my results are nice...
I have pics in my profile but we have to be friends and I will have to send you the password.

Sorry to hear that you are not as thrilled with the results. I have had several procedures and would not have been suprised by the numbness. However, I would have to say that I am not experiencing much numbness - perhaps right on the incision in a few spots but that is about it. My scars go from the middle of my knee all the way up to the groin and across the groin for a short distance. The long scar is between my legs so it is difficult for anyone to see. The scar in the groin is slightly below the crease so I am guessing that it might be visible if I wore a bathing suit without a short skirt attached. I rarely wear a bathing suit anyway so that is not an issue for me. And I know that they will fade as well so perhaps since I am not bothered by the fatty thighs anymore, I might consider it.
I also didn't have the seroma issue - my drains were in for a relatively long time - 4 and 5 weeks. That was a pain but at least everything that needed to come out came out.
I feel that perhaps if my before was "worse" I may be more excited about then. It did take care of some, but I didn't have a huge amount, of baggy skin. For me it is like one trade off for another...some fat hanging out of my shorts or scars peaking out. I chose to get the surgery first because I realized that gravity was never going to make them any better and because I had the funds to do what I wanted. There just isn't a huge noticeable change for me.
I am not displeased or regretful. I have regained all sensation in my tummy and suspect with time either the sensation will come back or I won't notice the numbness as much. My scars are similar to yours...my husband is the only one to see them in the groin and partially down my leg. They poke out of the bottom of my shorts but can only be seen when crossing my legs or sitting crisscross. Anyway, I am glad you are pleased. :). Cute swimming shorts cover scars quite well...I wear them often.
Absolutely worth the scars!!! I had massive Lipo done and then the Long Thigh Lift -- I am very pleased.
My thighs are the worst my surgeon had ever seen, so we are staging my thigh lift. He did lipo and a lift and I am returning for him to remove more skin this year.
12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I carry a large portion of fat on the front of my thighs. It really makes finding pants to fit FRUSTRATING.
Anyway, the surgeon said he would do Lipo first and then in 3 months the skin removal.
Since I'm going to do the Lipo in July the surgeon said I would most likely hate the process because of having to wear a compression garment that covers from the ankle to the waist. He that I will need to wear it for at least 8 weeks to help the healing and keep the cycling of swelling down.
What was your experience with the swelling issue ? I'm trying to compare my future lipo experience with someone of the same situation. Note: the surgeon mentions ~ 4liters to be removed, it that helps any.
Also, since there is such a long waiting period between the lipo and skin removal, how did you deal with seeing all the flabby skin once the fat was removed?
Thanks for your input.
Thank you for posting this!
I have my worst excess skin on my thighs, and I'm getting nutritionally prepped for a two stage thigh reduction just like yours, lipo first, 6 month heal, then skin removal, 6 month heal.
I don't care about the scars, I just want to be able to wear my true size pants, and be proportional!
