Tummy tuck with no muscle involvement?
I was a lightweight when I had my WLS, but I still have a significant amount of loose skin on my tummy -- it looks like a shar pei! LOL I exercise daily and my abdominal muscles are in great shape but the loose skin hides that.
I understand a "standard" tummy tuck includes tightening the abdominal muscles, which honestly I don't think I need. Does anybody know whether it's possible to have a tummy tuck that just removes excess skin without involving the abdominal muscles? I also have the dreaded fat/hanging pubic area and I'd like to have that lifted, which I understand can be included in a TT.
Thanks in advance for any input!
From what I understand, our abdominal muscles separate due to obesity, child bearing, and age. They are pulling the muscles back together when they tighten the stomach muscles during abdominoplasty. It really has nothing to do with how much exercise you have done to get your ab muscles in shape. Most of us here need the muscle tightening.
