I know I'm going to have a losing battle with Horizon Direct Access BCBS NJ, but I was wondering what you ladies (and gentlemen, too) paid for your arm lift/brachioplasty? I am considering doing that first since my arms look so bad.

I had an arm lift in December and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait for summer because for the FIRST time in my life I'm going to wear sleeveless shirts! My PS charged me $2200 for his fees. The hospital was approximately $800 - $1000 - it's hard to break it out because I had a TT at the same time and all of the hospital fees are lumped together. Good luck to you! Hi Adele, I just had an arm lift last Monday and the total cost was 6100. I couldnt be happier with the results so far, and there is a lot of swelling, so I cant imagine how it will look without the swelling. I saw my scar for the first time last night and it looks pencil thin.... if you have any questions, let me know... good luck! Gia

My doctor (northern virginia) charged 4500 and I paid another 2,000 for hospital, anesthesia. I tried to get him to do the loose skin on the side of my chest wall as well, but that was an extra 3,000 (maybe next tax return)...My doctor told me that he had never had a patient successfully get their insurance to cover anything (even the garments) for this surgery unfortunately. I think I am happy with the results but it's kind of weird..since I am still 200 pounds..and probably will stay there (my bariatric surgery was 23 years and 4 babies ago) my arms look skinny and sort of unproportionate to the rest of my body..but as soon as the swelling goes down, I think I will love it too..I have worn long sleeves and JACKETS! in the summer for my whole life..so I cannot wait. I am having a arm lift, breast lift and tummy tuck 4/28. The arm lift is $3,000.00 but that does not include the hospital fees which is $4,670.00 for all my procedures so I don't know what they would be for just the arm lift. Also, if you have to self pay like many of us do then be sure to ask your surgeon if they offer a prompt pay discount. Mine took 10% off. Take care.

Adele, I know south Georgia may be a little less expensive but here is my breakdown. I just had breast aug/arm lift 1/25. Dr-$4550, anesth-$960, hosp-$1150. Just a note, I asked for a detailed bill from the hospital, it was $27,000. They adjusted about $26,000 because I was self pay. I guess they would have charged my insurance (if they cov'd it) that much. I thought that was ridiculous!!! Anesthesia total bill was $3800, but I only had to pay $960. I am completely happy. May God bless you. Georgina

Hi Adele, Wow...Bayonne NJ! I grew up in Jersey City but left there when I was 19 and never went back. Living in Texas now on the coast. I had my arms and breasts done three weeks ago today and he gave me a great deal of $6,800 for both (that includes a breast lift with silicone implants). I think the arms alone were about $2,600 for everything! My arms look great eventhough there's scars....but going crazy buying sleeveless everything (eventhough I'm always cold). I also did my tummy, butt, back and thighs back in Oct. So I'm done with my extreme makeover for now! Good luck to you and feel free to write. Terry Coles

I just asked my PS office yesterday: Mind you I'm in the SF Bay area of Calif. $450.00 for anasteisiologist (sp) $2800.00 for PS and the hospital fees for the day, the are mailing me in the next couple days, S/B under $2,000.00. So in the neighborhood of under 5,500.00 & I know my insurance won't pay for this! Grace

I paid $1,500 for my Arm Lift (Brazil). This included Hospital, Surgeon, Anestesiologist, in hospital medications, etc., and 2 nights recovery (hospital). And the best part was that I was able to deduct my entire medical vacation (airfare, hotels, Concierge) as a medical expense off my income taxes. I've had 4 trips now and "around" 32 proceedures abroad but this method isn't always something everyone would consider, lol. I'm just a personality type that doesn't mind taking some risks is all. Since my ins. denied and I had to be cash pay, this was my only option and what I felt I had to do. Best of luck to you in your decision, Peggy ([email protected])
