I asked about this at the doc's office yesterday. I couldn't understand how I have lost 4 pounds plus my belly and not fit in my pre-op jeans. First thing he asked me was, "have you been wearing your compression hose?". I had not. His assistant said it was perfectly normal to swell in your hips and thighs and things would get better and better over time.

That's funny that you bring up mulch. My hubby and I were supposed to put down mulch the weekend before my sugery but it rained. So he had to do it by himself the next weekend while I stood or sat and watched. I felt bad for him (not really). He had to put out 4 truckloads by himself... poor baby.

Topic: RE: PAIN comparison
I've had RNY, Breast Reduction, TT w/ Panni and I have to say the TT w/Panni was the worst. The first week was pretty rough so I took my pain meds religiously but I am 2 weeks out today and have little or no pain. I think its different for everybody and has alot to do with how you tolerate pain.

Topic: RE: TT Binders
Is there a difference between compression garments and shapewear? My doc told me to buy spanx or something similar to wear under my binder. He said to wear my binder for 3 more weeks until my next appointment. Right now I am wearing a spanx that I bought yesterday. It goes from my legs up to right under my bra with my binder over it. I hope that's right??...

Sneezing after a tummy tuck with muscle tightening is the worst ever! That rule needs to be included on the post op instruction sheets they give you at the hospital.

Rule # 11: No sneezing after surgery because it will hurt like hell if you do. Hehehehe!

Topic: RE: TT/Panni drain question
I had panni & TT with lipo on 3/10. I had my first drain removed this past Thursday and the second one is supposed to come out Tuesday. I have been going about life as normal for about 5 days now with no complications whatsoever. I am not working out yet but I am definitely moving around, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. I've even gone shopping and plan on going back to work on Wednesday. My doc said to do what I felt like doing as long as I was following the rules he gave me like wearing my garment and compression hose, not lifting over 5 lbs., taking my antibiotics, etc. I am not sure why your doc is being so cautious. Good luck and take care. Hope things get better for you soon.

Topic: RE: Panniculectomy vs. TT

I had a panni, tt, and lipo on my sides. Insurance paid for panni and my part was 3500.00. If I had not added the lipo my part was 2500.00. He did not charge me to do the lipo but the hospital charges him 1000 to rent the lipo equipment. I thought that was a good price considering the first surgeon i went to said insurance would not approve it and my cost would be 10,000.00. If you think you may have trouble paying for it all at once you can try Care Credit. You can apply online and they will give you an answer right away.

So far I am very happy with the results.

Yes I have to wear the garment. I took it off to wash up and snapped the pic while I had it off. I am definitely swollen.

I had my panni with the full tummy tuck and muscle tightening. I think if I had just done the panni the muffin would still be there.

It is my understanding that he loosened the skin as far up as he could and then pulled everything down and made a new hole for my belly button.
Here is a link to a video that shows how its done.

I have on an old pair of cotton granny panties right now that I wore before I lost all my weight. I went "commando" all day yesterday and wore some stretchy lounge pants.

I had a panni, TT, and lipo on my sides on Wednesday. I am so amazed at the results already that I went ahead and took photos. I can't wait until the swelling goes down so I can see where I end up. I am feeling really good and am so glad I did this. Thanks for all the encouragement you guysgave me.

I am going in on Wednesday and staying overnight. My mom is taking me home from the hospital and she will stay with me until my hubby gets home from work. Do you think I will need someone to stay with me during the day on Friday?

It's great to hear you are already back at work. I took 2 weeks off but would like to head back early if possible. I am usually pretty resilient and bounce back quickly. I had surgery for a fissure on a Friday and was back at work on Monday. I just waited and took my pain meds when I got to work so I could drive. I know it won't be that quick with this surgery but 11 days is something to shoot for.

I am scheduled for Panni, TT with muscle tightening, and lipo and I am so nervous. I couldn't sleep last night and its been on my mind all day. I thought I would be excited at this point but I'm not. I keep reading about all the posts on this board about pain, infections, etc. It would be great to hear some reassuring words from those who've had good experiences. Thanks

Topic: RE: Anchor vs. Regular incision
I am scheduled for a TT with lipo next week. I noticed that many of you have had the anchor incision. Neither of the docs I went to mentioned this as an option. I am concerned as to whether that was because they felt I didn't need it or if it was because of their lack of experience with WLS patients. Anybody on here had a regular incision? How did you like your results? Do you wish you had the anchor?

Did the lipo really make a difference? Did you just have it on your sides or did they do your back too?

Topic: RE: were you nervious
Thanks for posting this. I am scheduled for a panni, TT, and lipo on Wednesday of next week. I have been so nervous. My friends keep asking me if I am excited but I'm not (not yet anyway). I am worried that something will go wrong or that I won't be happy with my results. I am also worried that it won't be enough. I am afraid that once I do this I will want more and more. When I first started exploring the possibiliy of PS I just wanted my stomach to look normal because I thought I could just live with the saggy arms, boobs, and inner thighs. Now I am not so sure anymore. I am an emotional nervous wreck right now.

Topic: RE: My Face

My face looked better when I was 30 pounds heavier that I am now. I'm pretty sure that I am too young to be thinking about PS on my face but I have got to do something. I look old and sick. Any ideas on how to make my face look better without surgery?
