Topic: RE: What's the worst side effect of PCOS???
for me it has been the hair growth on my face and neck. i can deal with stupid periods and cyst pain but the hair growth--- i despise it! also, iwould like to caution you.... for 7 months after my surgery everything pcos related was great. "normal" periods, no cysts, slowed down facial hair growth, then BAM... it was all back with a vengence. in fact i have been referred back to the endocrinologist because of it. i have also not lost any weight in the last 3 months and they think it is from the return of pcos symptoms. hope you have better luck.

Topic: What's the worst side effect of PCOS???
Okay, I have PCOS and have since I was a teen.  I have dealt with it daily, weekly, monthly.  My three kids are all 7 years apart in age.  Not because that is the way I planned it as most people think, but that's how long it took to conceive!  I have banned Aunt Flo from my family since she can never have the decency to call ahead before her surprise visits.  Sometimes, I have wondered if it could ever get worse.

Anyways, My WLS is next month, but as I was showering today, I looked down and noticed that I have hairy boobs!  Not gorrila hairs or anything, but still, I spent at least a half hour picking out hairs!  I know, TMI.   I can't say that this is the end of the world, but geez, what next??

What is your worst side effect?

Calling all girlies!
I am sixteen years old and got my period the first time when I was thirteen.  I have PCOS obviously, and I usually only got my period about once a year.  I had a cyst removed from my flopian tube this past year, and began getting my periods every other month.  My most recent period started late augest and it hasn't gone away yet!  Also, I get A LOT of large clots within the first week of my period.  Have any of you ever had this? Is it related to having PCOS?  Is it urgent??  I have never been to a GYN, and really don't want to go to one. Help????

Topic: RE: Symptoms with IUD?
To tell you the truth it did hurt for 2 min while insertation took place, and a bit of cramping after words, but it was fine after an hour. Thats one of the reasons i had it done, the pill is not totally absorved after this kind of surgeries.

Take care

Did it hurt when they implanted your IUD? I've been thinking about it for a couple of years and now that I'm post op - I'm afraid the BC pills won't prevent pregnancy

Oh yeah...totally normal.  I currently have my 2nd IUD and had this one placed in early April.  Your uterus is getting used to the foreign body.  I love my IUD and it's the only thing that keeps me from getting pregnant now (go figure...now I have to prevent pregnancy after ttcing for 8 years prior to surgery).  You can expect some funky periods for about 2-3 months after having your IUD placed.  After that they should peter out to just spotting or nothing at all after about 4 months + (especially if you have the Mirena).
