Looking forward to shaking LOOSE this weight and getting back to LOSING again

How is it going? Pros? Cons? I'm thinking about it. Lost 125 with rny, 19 years ago. I've gained back half ? I was 37 then now I'm 55...

For most people a revision results in about a 20 pound weight loss. Part of that is from the liquid diet before and after the revision. When we get first surgery they are taking a stomach that can hold the amount of a two-liter soda bottle and reducing it to the size of an egg or even smaller.rr

We learn how to eat enough calories to gain weight, even with a very small stomach. The revision makes it a little smaller but most of us can easily just eat smaller meals a bit more often and weight stays pretty much the same.

If you read the revision board you will see many with high hopes and expectations before revision but very rarely anyone posting success after the first month or so.

The secret to losing the weight again is just to eat less calories than you burn. I found Weigh****chers new program extremely helpful. It took more than two years to lose 30 pounds but it did stay off. I highly recommend you start with the book, The Shift by Gary Foster.

You can lose the weight without another surgery. If you have another surgery, you still have to reduce calories for any lasting weight loss.

How are you doing? Have you spoken to your doctor about your interest in revision or possibly trying a pharmaceutical alternative? There are so many now! After seeking help with my knees Dr. only x-ray'd and insisted getting weight off would help. After discussing prescription alternatives finally the only one that was appropriate for body was Wellbutrin/Naltrexone also known as Contrave. It has made it so much easier to say no to overeating and bad habits and I'm losing finally.

Something to consider is that with every surgical intrusion to your abdomen you increase the risk of adhesions and hernias. We have so many avenues of health even before pills or shots...Weigh****chers is just one that has always had a sound program and offers avenues of great support.

Hope you are doing well and busy enjoying your summer. Best wishes for whatever path you choose with your weight journey.
