I'm going camping this weekend and need some easy inexpensive food ideas for myself! I can do hamburger and hotdogs for the husband and kiddies but that won't work for me, even potato salad makes me sick, there can't be much fat in anything I eat or I dump? help please anybody!

I am 4 months out also, and am also having meat problems. I went to the beach recently and I was able to eat peanuts! But funny how meats can bother you. I would take some protein powder, and crackers. If you have refrigeration, take some salad stuff and cereal. Soups are good. You can heat them up in a pan on the grill! Protein bars, and eggs! Cottage cheese, fruit. It all depends on how rough your conditions are. Are you in a camper, tent, RV? You will have to be creative that's for sure. Have fun though! I have found there is more to life than food!

How about protein bars? I really like the QSmart bars by Quaker. they are only 120 calories and have 10 grams of protein each and are really yummy. Low carb and low sugar too. They come in 2 flavors but I like the chocolate peanut butter the best. You can also eat cottage cheese and fresh fruit, cheese, lean lunch meats such as turkey, chicken, ham, etc. This will be a challenge but you can do it. Also bring with some protein powder that you can mix with cold water for a quick meal and shot of protein. Isopure is a good one. Good luck Ronna

I ate sunflower seeds (any kind of nut) also, take some high protein oatmeal and cook it over the fire if you can. You could always cook baked beans or lentils how are you with that? then the family could eat some of them. Also, high protein and doesn't have to be cooked....beef jerky hope this helps Lisa

Jack Link's Premium Cuts -- Beef Jerk. It satisfies the salt craving. I found individually wrapped 1 oz packages at Sam Club for $12. This way you dont have to refrigerate them, or waste it if you dont finish the 3-4 oz in 3 days after openinging.
