Question about varicous viens

Hello everybody, I will be having my surgery August 4 and I am very excitied about it. I just have a question I have very bad varicous veins. I just want to know if they get better after losing wieght. My doctor says I have a 50 50 chance that they will improve. I just thought I could get some feed back from people with my situation. I really enjoy reading the message board I find it very helpful april

Hi April , I have very bad vericose veins , too . I had them stripped in my right leg . But the remaining ones in that leg became vericosed too . I lost over 100 pounds about 6 1/2 years ago . My veins did become a little less full , which was nice . Unfortunately the weight came back . Kathy

I have varicose veins as well and was going to get surgery on them. Surgeon said to wait until after I had WLS because they could get better. I am one month out and down 28lbs and already noticed a difference!!! I have one baaaad one in my left leg - it no longer sticks out as much as it use to and I havent had any pain in it since the surgery!! I may still have to have surgery on it but it would be more for cosmetic reasons than anything!
