How long before you went back to work?

I have a desk job, nothing physical. I was hoping to be out of the office for two weeks and then back to work, even if it wasn't for full days. I could go back working half days for awhile and work back into full days as I'm able. Is that a realistic plan assuming I have a "normal" RNY lap surgery with no complications? If you have a desk job, too, how long were you out of the office after your surgery?

I had surgery Tuesday June 20th and came back to work Monday June 26th. The first week back I worked 5 hour days (9-2 my normal schedule is 8-5). After the first day I felt I could work a full day but didnt want to over do it plus it was gorgeous out and I wanted to go to the pool!!! The week after I went back to my normal schedule - I found that at 2pm ever day for the first 3 weeks post-op I would get exhausted and wanted to take a nap (feeling much better now!!) and it was rough getting up and getting going in the morning. Otherwise - I was fine! I also work a desk job and just sit all day... no lifting. I found it better to be at work than home - when I was home I would just lay around and sleep... being at work gave me a little more energy and kept me active. Also it helped with my drinking shakes and water since I am more focused at work!!

I had a lap RNY and I was back to work in a week. I have a desk job and I probably could have come back sooner than that but I was worried how to set a schedule to get all the water & protein in so I chose to wait a few extra days.

That is realistic, but expect to be very tired.
