Back from Mexico! AND I FEEL GREAT!
I don't even feel like I've had surgery (with the exception of a teeny bit of gas that travels up into my left shoulder from time to time)! I'm healing very well and I even managed to get a date with a really reaalllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy good looking security guard from the resort I stayed at ;)
It's amazing to me that I haven't felt hungry... not something I've ever experienced. I'm completely happy drinking my juice and water!
And just in case you wanted to know about my date, it went something like this!: (I originally wrote this in an e-mail to NursAmy who was in Mexico with me and went to the same resort)
The day that I got back to the hotel and checked back in we came across a security guard who spoke great English. Ended up learning he's from the same part of Los Angeles that I lived in and.. I guess we spoke for a minute or two just joking around. Didn't think anything of it. Yesterday afternoon Mom and I decided to go downtown to browse around.. got back to the hotel around 6pm and the same security guard was there.. the three of us ended up talking and joking around for a good 10 minutes or so and then he had to get back to work and we went back to the hotel room. 20 minutes later.. the phone rings. I pick it up and it went a bit like this:
"Hello?"
"Hi, Laura?"
"Yes..."
"Hey It's Frank"
"Oh hi!"
"I'm not supposed to be calling your room like this.... but I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me tonight.. I know that you can't eat anything but we could find something to do"
"That sounds great!"
"I was thinking we could maybe take a walk on the beach and I could get to know you a bit more"
(I was a bit shocked!)
"I'd love to... you get off at 10:30, right?"
"Yep.. Do you want me to send someone to come and pick you up?"
"Nope, I'll meet you there"
"Great... I'm really looking forward to seeing you again"
And then we just said goodbye and hung up. I was SO SO SO surprised. Definitely wasn't expecting to get a date on my last night in Puerto Vallarta haha!!
I ended up meeting him when he got off his shift, we drove around and went to Nuevo Vallarta and walked on the beach and just talked and talked for hours.. finally got back to the room at 4am and had to wake up at 5:30ish .. oh well :D I had the BEST NIGHT EVER!

Hey girl -- that must have felt so good!! Are you guys going to keep in touch? I'm such a hopeless romantic! And, I'm glad to hear you are doing so well after surgery. I am 3+ months post-op (had my surgery with Dr. Joya too, as you know). I finally have my full energy back and feel soooo good! I'm only 4 lbs from onederland! hugs, Elaine
Yeah.. we plan to keep in touch.. exchanged e-mails. :) And I've got his work number ;P I'm going to call sometime I'm sure.
I've been doing a looootttt of walking around and such which is the only reason why I'm tired, I think. I'm full of energy otherwise and I'm hoping it'll stay that way
