Jen Ok so what is your current weight?  At what point did you meet your goal? How many calories are you eating daily?  I am at 168 and want to get to 161 before plastics in July which will be almost my 18 month mark.  I am eating about 800 calories a day on good days and work out 4 nights a week. Thanks Amybeth

My current weight is 145... I hit that last month in Feb. My original surgeons goal was 155 which I hit back in October... my personal goal was 152 which I hit in November. Currently my nutritional goals are  cal 1000-1200 fat 30 protein 60-70 carbs 100-110 However I am getting a metabolism test done next Friday to see how many calories my body *really* needs. I have a feeling that I am not eating enough, especially with the level of exercise I do. I find I have been wanting to eat more lately and think its due to that... we will see.

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

No bashing here!! I can eat almost a whole mini bagel with cream cheese. I like my mini bagel with 1 egg and 2 pieces of bacon for my breakfast bagel sandwich, I can't eat it all and my doggies get a little treat when I'm full. A lot of people freak out when you say carbs...like it's a dirty word or something. Your brain needs carbs!!

Tryed my first post op bagel a few weeks ago w/ lite CC toasted. I could only enjoy a few bites before I had that feeling of fullness :~) I try to stay clear of any type of bread as that was my go to food pre op but I was in NY for the weekend and had to at least try one !

I had my first bagel at Christmas time.  I could barely eat half of it, and of course it was topped with cream cheese and lox.  It sat pretty heavy in the pouchie, but it was certainly yummy. If I'm in a pinch and a bagel is the best option I have, then so be it.  I don't see anything wrong with having one occasionally.

I had 1/4 of one a few weeks ago and I was stuffed to death. I don't know why you'd want one, why do you care if you can eat a whole one or not if only part of it can fill you up?

Imparfait Why do I care? I dunno, chalk it up to I'm taking a poll.  I can eat a whole one sometime, and only a bite or two on other days. I eat only whole grains, and it doesnt trigger me to eat more "bad " carbs.... I just wanted to see who actually *could* eat a bagel......

Nope.  No bread in the pouchie for the Pirate Queen. Maybe if I toasted it to a black crisp - but then it wouldn't be very tasty. Nikki

Please note to future posters: I asked *if you could physically eat a bagel**. I didnt ask your opinions bagels, or your philosphy on eating carbs. If you cant eat a whole bagel, say so. If you can, say so.If you dont care to reply either way, thats fine too...... Thats it. Its a simple question.
