Frozen Diet Coke?

I'm wondering if the frozen diet cokes would be OK.  I think they just use syrup and freeze and stir until they get a slushy mixture.  I'm not sure if there's any carbonation.  Anyone have any ideas?  I think this way I could get a little of that coke flavor every once in a while if I really needed it. :)

Freezing works well to take out the carbonation. I was craving Root Beer as a new post-op and was told to freeze it in ice cube trays and then blend it with milk and protein powder for a root beer float taste. It was just what I needed. Believe me the longer you go without diet coke when you do taste it you'll realize it's not very good anyway. That's coming from me a former diet coke addict! Edited to add: I just re-read your post - I don't know what's in frozen diet cokes that you buy. Try freezing your own.

I think you would be ok from a carbonation standpoint, but you would have to consider the caffeine.  I'm a pre-op diet coke addict, too, so I feel your pain.  Giving up Diet Coke will be a difficult adjustment.

Ohhhhhhhh how I want a soda.  The other day I was at my grandmothers and my skinny cousin was asking how things where. I mentioned how I crave a soda, I drank regular sodas not diet.  I said "oh I'd love to have a coke/pepsi or an ORANGE"  She said, "that sounds good", then proceeded to get a can of Orange Crush soda out of my grandmothers fridge and drink it in front of me, what a b*tch!

I hear of people freezing diet sodas, or drinking flat soda, but to me that defeats the purpose. I think I liked soda partly because of the carbonation. So sucks for me!  NO soda wether it be diet or not is the best thing anyways, still miss it though. Hahaha

Thanks for the replies...what I'm primarily talking about is how you can go to Burger King and order a Frozen Diet Coke.

I had a few sips of a Crystal Light raspberry slurpee the other day.  Yes, they do contain carbonation.  The freezing process does reduce some of that but you can still taste the "zing" .  The same applies to frozen Diet Coke's.  Hope that helps!
