I agree with Terateacher.. I haven't had a pop since August 29, 2008. I quit cold turkey and for the most part haven't had any cravings from it. Once in a while when I see them in the vending machine at work, I think about how I could drink 3 or 4 Pepsis in a day, but no real urge to go buy one or even the urge for the taste.

I too feel the same way most of the post ops feel.  you really just don't want it anymore.  I couldn't have imagined turning down a coke 3 months ago.  I lived on them.  Needed the caffeine fix, and loved the taste of the carbonation....but now...it's like...no thank you.   My husband bought a two liter last week (he too hasn't had soda for 2 months).  I heard the ice jingle as he put it in the glass.  I heard the hiss as he took the cap off of the bottle.  And that familiar sound of soda being poured into the glass, ending in a nice fizz.  I waited for the excitement to come, but it never did. I did ask him for a sip, because my body and head could not deceive me like this.  One sip...nothing.  I handed it back to him (his eyeballs looked as if they were going to fall out of his head) and went back to drinking my yummy, ice water.   Same thing happened when we got a happy meal for my son.  I wanted a cheeseburger so badly.  My mouth did water this time.  I took a bite (tiny tiny bite), chewed...and nothing.  It was like the biggest let down of my life.  No excitement from it.  I did end up spitting the piece out.  I just didn't want the guilt of swallowing something that didn't taste good and that would ruin the effect my loose clothing was having on me. It is really weird the things that you just don't want anymore after this surgery.
