Painful bloating = food intolerance?
My solution to this issue is to make sure I supplement with good quality probiotics (you can google that to).
Usually if you start adding probiotics - it takes a while (a few weeks or months) before you can see drastic results, but it will happen.
Also, you can try to do candida detox (goggle that also) to help you get the results faster.
Sometimes doctors prescribe Flagyl (antibiotics) to try to kill the bad gut bacteria. If you choose to do that - please remember that this will also kill the "friendly" flora, so after the treatment you would need to supplement with even more probiotics. And yogurt has some, but not many of the good bacteria, and many of them may not survive the trip through your gut (and all the way to your colon).
Study showed that Splenda (sucrulose) consumptions causes lower # of the good bacteria and in gut (google that also if you wish).
Some people will/may disagree with what I had said her, but I always had problem with my gut it is just me...) and doing all the above for a long time is helping me a lot.
It is important to have 1 BM every day. if you have less than that - some people would consider that constipated (constipation promotes bad bacteria overgrow, flatulence, etc).
However - any new program of supplementation you start - start slowly - you do not want to shock your system.

If you haven't been supplementing, you probably have pernicious anemia, and all the iron supplements in the world won't correct that.
B12 binds with something called Intrinsic Factor, which is created in the lining of our stomachs, and together they bind with iron to allow our bodies to process the iron. With our pouches as small as they are, we don't produce enough Intrinsic Factor to bind with the B12 in food to properly absorb and process iron.
That's why we have to supplement B12 using a sublingual tablet (whichis absorbed through the mucus membranes of the mouth, and not through the GI tract) or injection to get the full impact. Further, we have to use a specific (less commonly found) variety of B12 called METHYLcobalamin. MOST of the B12 in the stores is CYANOcobalamin, which we cannot absorb as readily.
So if your iron is low and you haven't had your B12 supplemented, you will need to supplement BOTH to be sure your anemia is reversed. Pernicious anemia is deadly (as a matter of fact, "pernicious" means deadly), so get your levels checked and start supplementing ASAP.
Don't be TOO sure. Many MANY people think the same thing, but are suffering from functional constipation. Folks with functional constipation may stool every day or even more often than that, but do so incompletely. They may only pass half of the stool they should pass, but are misled by the fact that they stool daily. If your stools are dark, hard, pellet like, you may well have functional constipation.
With that said, there are lots of other possibilities for your symptoms, and even some GYN issues can cause what you've described. If it really is uncomfortable, you should address this with your doctor.
