Nah-- just pour a couple glugs into the bottom of the pitcher part. About 1/2 an inch for a 20 oz slushie.

Cheaper way to go-- packets of SF Crystal Light or other 0 cal drink packets. Use two, and add water until it's about a half inch deep.
