Okay, so the whole eastern seaboard is frozen over and you're making slushies? I'm still drinking hot coffee/cocoa over here on the left coast. When the mercury gets up to 75, then I'll be properly jealous...Until that time, I'll toast you with a steaming cup of NSA Swiss Miss...and Splenda Mocha..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I'm with you, Dawn.  Too effin cold to even think about a slushie!  But then we have to consider, Shari is the Only 8 FroYo Queen, whether it's 85 degrees or 8 below, nothing gets in the way of her Only 8.  Methinks SF slushie fix would fall into the same category.  Makes my teeth chatter just thinking about it!

You and I think alike -- I have several DaVinci syrups in my wine rack too.  And an AWFUL bottle of alcohol-free wine that I should get rid of.  Blech.

Now there's a thought.  Chanterelles are in abundance now due to the rains here in Northern California. I have a friend who belongs to the Bay Area Mycological Society and will have to hit him up for some flappy foldy treasures.

Sig and I were in hog heaven at the Kennett Mushroom Festival this year-- we bought cases of 'em-- especially the baby bellas. I eat mushrooms probably 4 times a week-- I'm a mushroom head!

When I get them cheaply and plentifully, I toss them in a pan full of Pam-- with a shake of garlic salt, and some chopped onions. I cook them very slowly to caramelize the whole deal-- then I can freeze them or just keep a Tupperware full in the fridge for sammiches or pizzas or on beans.

When I make a petite filet, I throw them on the same pan as the meat, and douse the whole deal in non-alcoholic red wine. Why waste the good hooch on fungus?

Add me to the syrup in the wine rack crowd!
I find some at World Market ( not sure how wide spread they are) as well as some at my grocery stores and Wally World

I'm lucky I found a restuarant supply store that I can get them for 3.78 a bottle. Pick up a couple each time I go. My pantry was getting stuffed and I could never find the one I wanted. Top of the fridge is perfect for me.
