Seriously - I think it has something to do with drinking all those splenda sweetened drinks. Im so sick of sweet that I have found a new addiction - MUSTARD. On everything. I gotta have it everyday. I used to HATE mustard!
Im just wondering if anyone else has to hunt for things of hte tart and bitter variety since RNY?

Not tart but my taste has changed a bit...I never was much of a sweet eater and now I have my SF cookies or SF Fugesicle every evening before bed...

I noticed that I just do not much care for some of the old foods that I did..

I had a horseradish thing for a couple of weeks, then it died. Horseradish pretzel dip, horseradish with mayo on sandwiches... I never even liked horseradish before..

wierd.

Mine hovvers between wasabi and oranges or indeed anything citrus. I am addicted to a variety of tangerine called Ortaniques, if you see them try them, they are really yummy.  I've also just had fresh pineapple, it's a bit fibrous so I can't eat much but the taste mmmmm

Wasabi goodies include wasabi coated macadamia nuts and because they're covered in wasabi you can't physically eat more than a moderate amount otherwise you blow your head off.

I went for years unable to eat this kind of food with my band I am so happy I can eat it now.

Try Ocean Spray ruby red crystal drink.  I love it!!  Has a slightly tart taste-almost like real grapefruit juice.

I was craving fresh lemons for awhile when I wasn't feeling very partial to food in general after surgery. I'd get lemon water with extra lemons just to suck on the lemon juice.

Pickles... can not buy it - because i would eat the whole jar... in one day...

I have the same problem.  Everything is so sweet and nauseated.  I crave tart, sour tastes.

But ever time I do - I develop pain later on.  Not sure if i have an ulcer. And the spicy- tart food aggravates that.

I think we may need the salt, the tart - to balance all the sweeteners we are getting.

If you can - try to drink 1 cup warm water + juice from 1/2 lemon first thing in the morning.  (I can not - think ulcer...)

Pickles!!! Like two weeks out from surgery I was craving them like a pregnant woman! LOL Even now I still do. Although I have to limit myself because of the high sodium count. Ugh!

You are not alone girlfriend. BTW Congrats on the weight loss!!
