protein powder and the heat

I like to leave a shaker bottle with a scoop of Nectar and a single serving size of Crystal Light in car so that if I'm somewhere and can't eat all I have to do is pour in a bottle of cold water and shake. I live in Texas and it is already getting HOT. Do you think the heat will hurt the protein powder?

Yes - it may.
I bought a portable thermos. They are SS and I recommend them.
The fit in a cup holder, one hand operated, and .... keep drinks cold and hot.   has a large opening - so I can fill it half with ice and that keeps the drink cold very long. (all day if needed)
Tested in summer in SC....

So if it's still in powder form it could damage the protein? Darn!

I would not risk it.
If it is small - why not carry it in your purse? and leave the bottle or the shaker in the car...?
So you can have it - and carry it -
They make small ziploc bags - that i use all the time.  Or in case of emergency - when i travel - I buy the individually packed powder. No way it can spill inside my purse.

FYI: old prescription medicine bottle - CVS, etc - can pack 1 scoop of protein...

Thank you - after having a small bag of protein power coating everything in your purse.... you find a strong bag or another - safe container to carry that stuff..
"necessity is a mother of inventions.."

FYI: my purse on an average day can feed me for a day. And you can find protein powder, high protein bar (s), cheese, nuts, beef sticks (individually wrapped).  It really does not take a lot of space - but allows me to eat every 2-3 hrs no matter where I had to run to, and on occasion when i end up in someone else house or a restaurant that I could not pick anything - a life saver.... .

My fiance and I flew (private plane)  on a whim somewhere - and we decided to spend more time there walking and exploring - lunch was in my purse... he was laughing when I started pulling things out of my (rather small) purse... now he calls it - a magic purse...

I have just gotten into the habit of taking a small lunch box with blue ice with me all the time.  I also have one of those neat coolers that has the ability to plug into the power source in the car for those longer road trips.

I would recommend going to the store and get one of the baby formula holders. You can get them at Target, Walmart etc. It is designed for powder and keeps it perfectly sealed in your purse...it was a lifesaver for my son and now I use it! :0)

Containers of protein travel in trucks for days in heat - I would not worry about it!!
