FINALLY!! A place for me....yep~ 2.5 years post op and I bounce between 98-106 lbs. I know...I know...to thin. I'm not trying to lose anymore..just what my body is doing..
I eat anything and everything...every two hours. Yes, lots of carbs, fruit and soy.
I know I have lost some muscle but I don't work out..but I do a lot more outdoor activities than I used too as a fatty...mowing the yard..gardening, etc..so I keep my tummy muscles and upper body pretty tight.
I don't journal my food any longer but I do keep track of my protein and calories...I try to maintain 2400 calories a day.
From 320 lbs to 100 lbs...so that's 220 lbs GONE!!!!! Somebody give some hooters and a hiney!!

My calories are in the form of rice/protein shakes...you are right..I do have allergie crap and lactose intolerances stuff going on...but that's why I have to count my calories because of my "Frankenstein guts" that don't absorb properly...

Thanks for posting this Crystal! I think I'm in here! I'm 14 months out and I've lost 140#. I'm maintaining at about 119-121 (I'm only 5'2"). My metabolism must be "shot" because if I eat over 1300-1400 cals/day, I start on that upwards trend on the scale! (It's irritating as anything too!) So, I tend to stay in the 1000-1100 cal/day range. I don't eat any "bad" carbs, usually (I AM only human!) and I usually get 105-110g of protein/day, just from meals/snacks.
I'll be a food "logger" for life, I think! I use Daily plate and I use my GoWear faithfully and usually have a 700-800 cal deficit everyday (that's so I can maintain, believe it or not!)
I've lost a good bit of muscle, but I HAVE been going to the gym and I am seeing some really good results! I STILL don't have a butt either!!! I'm a LOT stronger than most people think I am! haha! I generally run/walk daily and hit the gym at least 3x/week (weights, elliptical, whatever else I have time for!)
I've found that this part of the journey has been the toughest! I loved the reinforcement of the scale moving downwards......now that it's gone.........I'll just take the smaller clothing sizes (size 4 or 6, depending on the brand) and run with it!!!!!
Have a great evening!

Hello everyone I have also noticed that my muscle has decreased alot. I don't have alot of flabby skin from not excersicing, but I have a little. I didn't excercise because I lost so fast I was afraid I would continue to lose more weight. I will be a year on June 30, 2009 and I weigh 136 down from 251 in January of 2008. I do try to get in my protein but I know not until I start with the weight am I going to build up my muscle again. All my labs are good. How bad is it if I don't have a lot of body muscle.
I am 4 yrs out in August.
I lost quite a bit of muscle, and most people lose way more than they think when losing a massive amount of weight. I lost 146 lbs total. I didn't exercise much while losing, other than walking. I have joined a gym near my home recently that has a heated pool, and I have started weight bearing exercise, and swimming.
I am struggling with 5 lbs that come and go at will, it seems! I have gained and lost it for the past several months. I low carb and lose it within a week or 10 days, then eat normally and gain it back within a month.
I did have to up carbs to regain when I went well below my goal weight. At this point, I don't have to even think about losing too much. I think for most of us, any concerns about losing too much are irrelevent. We may drop below goal, but it's generally temporary. We usually HOPE to have to increase carbs, especially when we get to a healthier and better looking weight, and would like to eat more like we did before surgery. I believe for the most part, we will never be able to eat that way again. We can eat 99% of the foods we used to, over time, but never the quantities, or the combinations. I do eat FF, but not with a Big Mac.
Usually with some protein item and veggies.
In my normal days, when not trying to get rid of that cursed 5 lbs, I average around 100 carbs a day, sometimes a lot more, often less. If I can stay away from the SF popcicles, I think I wouldn't gain that 5 pounds. Can you imagine how many I eat to gain on them???
