Once upon a time... I hear that at 6 months post-op most people have lost __% of body weight that they needed to loose. Anyone know this #? i have my appointment in 2 days and dont know if i am on track.. i haev lost about 60% of the weight I want to loose..

I know everyone differs in #s, but a % makes it different for everyone, depending on where you started and where you want to end up.

thanks!

You are past the goal of 50% at 6 months!!  My DS friend Carolyn M. has the breakdown on her OH page.

I had not seen this before, but it makes more sense. This needs to be shared with all newbies so they will stop looking at the lbs lost and start looking at the %. What a shocker!!!

If you take into consideration what I weighed when I got HOME from the hospital we could use 212 as a starting weight....Just a thought

Those are good figures to know. I’m currently at about 49% of excess weight lost at 3 mos. out (although I really think I’m at about 43%, because I think I have more excess weight than the surgeon said), so it gives me hope that maybe I WILL be one of the ones that loses 100% of their excess. I really hope so!

At 6 months I am lost 48% of my excess weight, going by the normal weight charts.  However, since I have no intentions of trying to get to 165 (goal is 199), then I've lost 54% of what I want to lose.

I am just ending my sixth month this week.  My goal was to have lost 65% of the excess weight by the sixth month.  I made it!
