What are you doing/eating today? Thursday!

Today is about getting back on track after a little too much over-indulgence yesterday. The carbs made me do it.

B: Protein coffee, latte when I get to class
S: 1/4 cup nuts, Kashi cinnamon harvest, dark chocolate covered soybeans
L: PB and agave sandwich on Orowheat protein health bread, grapes, cheesestick
D: Chick Fil A Southwest Chargrilled Salad
S: Pop rice (I randomly found these in my grocery store! They are AMAZING!) with a bit of PB and nutella

Well, that's still a little carb heavy, but it's not all processed sugar like yesterday ended up being. I still feel full and bloated from yesterday, so we'll see how much I actually get in.

I have an hour left to chill in my apartment and get some reading done before I have to head out to 6 straight hours of class. Wish me luck!

After yesterday morning's carb coma I decided not to eat my Omega flax cereal this morning.  I absolutely despise waking up with energy and then eating and then zonking out again. I want to try coffee again but I'm a little scared to.

Before RNY I used to make my own cafe mocha frappucinos  each morning  using 1 cup of room temperature coffee, 1 cup of non-fat milk, 1 package of no sugar added hot chocolate mix, 2 packets of splenda, and 6 to 8 ice cups and if I really had a chocolate craving I'd add in 2 tablespoons of Hershey's dark chocolate powder and place it all in the blender - viola - it was great!  And then in the winter (or I should say for the few cold months we have that we call winter)  I made cafe mochas  using the same process except I didn't put the ingredients in the blender and I left out the ice cups.  I suppose I am far enough out to attempt this.

Anyway - there is a lot to do today.  I am of course applying for jobs and am really looking forward to working again.   And then there was the ink incident - somehow a pen snuck into the dryer with all my child's new school shirts - polos and everything.  Everyone is trained to do their own laundry and to have those life skills around here.  Fortunately - I've been down this road before and have found that at Home Depot they sell something called Graffiti off and it works miracles on getting rid of ink on clothes.  It is good stuff!

B:  Sloppy Joe Mix
S:  Greek Yogurt with blueberries
L:   Beef soup
S:   ?
D:  Chicken or beef

i am no Shari - but the following scared me:

"Before RNY I used to make my own cafe mocha frappucinos  each morning  using 1 cup of room temperature coffee, 1 cup of non-fat milk, 1 package of no sugar added hot chocolate mix, 2 packets of splenda, and 6 to 8 ice cups and if I really had a chocolate craving I'd add in 2 tablespoons of Hershey's dark chocolate powder and place it all in the blender - viola - it was great!  And then in the winter (or I should say for the few cold months we have that we call winter)  I made cafe mochas  using the same process except I didn't put the ingredients in the blender and I left out the ice cups.  I suppose I am far enough out to attempt this."

And that after you know you react to sugars? (carb coma?) there are so much sugars in that - milk - 12 gr of sugar, NSA chocolate - has sugar - etc.  Add all of the ingredients together and see if you really want that.  Just saying - please be careful.
FYI - 1 cup of skim milk affects me - too many sugars.

Oh yes - I know - that is why I haven't tried it. I was just dreaming about sipping on my mocha coffee.   Even if I were crazy enough to try it - I'd only be able to take in 2 to 4 sips - then I'd be full.     I make sure I have as close to 0 sugar grams as possible.  I am sugar sensitive.  Once in a while I get in 4 grams of sugar a day when I eat my Greek Yogurt.  Protein shakes if I drink them have to be Atkins 0g sugar.   Thank you for your concern.

I feel good today.  Doing the Day in the Life post yesterday did something for me, I think.  And the day before that I posted the Be Grateful for Today  post.  And add to it a really good and fulfilling support meeting this past Tuesday.... I guess I just am happy with where I'm at today.  Where my life is and the path that I'm on - it all just feels right today.

Tonight I'm meeting my nephew and sister for some scouting.  Because of the economy my nephew was going to have to go without senior pictures -- so I volunteered to do it for him.  It'll be my first time doing a portrait photo shoot type thing and I'm a bit nervous about screwing it up.  We'll be scouting out some locations for Saturday's shoot.  I guess if I do screw it up, it's not like a one-time deal... if they don't turn out on Saturday I can always drag him out again and again until we get it right.  Planning to study up on some tips and tricks on the photog forums today.

Today's eats:

Commute -- protein hot chai tea
Arrive at work -- fake latte
Breakfast -- yogurt w/ blueberries
Lunch -- white chicken chili and dessert of mini apple cinnamon rice cakes
Snack - grapes and cheese
Snack -- ??? will need something since dinner will be late, late, late
Dinner -- ??? maybe more soup since it'd be easy?
LNS -- probably nothing

I'll track food in FitDay today after yesterday's lesson of too low calories.  And looking at the plan, I see it's going to end up low again if I don't pump it up.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Shari, sending you hugs!

Started my day off with a dump, ate frosted mini wheat's and dang...dump city. It was the end of the box so it had more sugar from the "crumbs" and I wasn't thinking. I haven't dumped like that in about 18 mths so the pouch is still in control.

B: milk and frosted mini wheat's (dumped)
S: handful of walnuts
S: beef jerky
L: 3 oz. tuna stuffed in a tomato
S: yogurt with walnuts
S: apple
D: Annie's homemade lasagna (yum!)

then off to the gym for a workout
S: pear

then off to my bariatric support group
S: beef jerky

Today will be one more of the "protein shakes-soft -mushy food" days.  I am hungry - but i do not want to risk otehr than slider food. Today is one more day - and I may get some directions from my doc what to do with that stipid pain after I eat.  Until then - I am a bit scared to eat any "dense food"

today:
protein coffee x 2
cottage cheese
protein bar
     doc visit
will decide after the doc visit - depends what he says
