How do you disguise your crushed meds from your taste buds?
This was the worst for me after my surgery. It was like a bad chore taking my meds. I've tried all sorts of things, some things just don't mix well with the powdered meds. What works best for me is low-sodium V8 juice. I've tried regular V8 and it doesn't work as good as the low sodium. ???? Still doesn't disguise them entirely, one of my evening BP pills is the worst, tastes just awful....
This was a good topic...esp. like the sf jelly and the sweet Dunkins coffee remedies! Immediately postop I was advised by a nurse to mix a small amount of children's liquid Tylenol with crushed med on a spoon...the thick & gooey texture held the lil crushed pieces together and it was just a matter of getting the spoonful down. I like the jelly idea! Havent had to take meds (use chewable vitamins & supplements, prolly for life) so don't know if I can now take whole pills at almost six months post-op; I'll ask my surgeon on 10/1!

Gonna have to try the sugar free jelly. One of my meds is so foul that it actually makes my tongue and lips numb and my stomach hurt for about 20 minutes after I take it...
. I tried mixing it with my strawberry flavored Prevacid...nope, still nasty. Thankfully, I haven't had to take much in the way of pain meds since about 3 days out of surgery. Thank you for the suggestions everyone!

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! Thanks everyone.I tried the jelly. It was an improvement. I also tried 1 tsp of SF chocolate syrup. It was better. But i think it was better because of the drug that I used it for. It was not very bad before mixing it.
Can't wait to try the coffee tomorrow. I'm using decaf w/8th continent light soy.
