have any of you woke up after surgery with NO BELLY BUTTON
Maybe my eight year old nephew was confusing me with you. He came to stay with me about a week after surgery and went home telling all his friends that his uncle no longer had a belly button. When I was visiting them this weekend, I had to prove up my belly button cred. He said, "Oh well. I thought I heard something about your belly button."
Before surgery my belly button was down to my thighs because of my big fat stomach. I had complications following WLS and had to have surgery again just weeks after. My incision was from my private area to my breast bone and about 4 inches wide. I had a wound vac for 8 months because they wanted it to heal from the inside out. Anyway, I lost the sagging belly button. A few months ago I had the hernia repaired ( from the other surgery) and still no belly button. I really don't miss it. I read somewhere the Eve didn't have one either so it was okay. I might consider a tatoo or a black sharpie.
My stomach had a three inch wide, purple scar until I had the other surgery. I am still healing. At the conjunction of the anchor incision I have a place that has not completely healed. About an inch up a stitch came up and so I have another spot healing. I am very happy with the surgery and after the 8 months of open wound, broken hip, anemia(still) this is only a minor set back that I can handle with a smile. I hated carrying that noisy machine with me everywhere I went. Hope I never have to have one again. Some people don't know what they are missing!!!!!!
YOU ARE SO right- THE JOY OF MY DAY used to be getting in one of those ride on things at the Walmart - that way I had a place to put the Vacuum- but hoping everything is on the way to permanant healing for you- and hoping you ae enjoy being on the losers bench- so far only 30 lbs for me- but I am thrilled each lil pound that is coming off!!! Hugs, Terry
